LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' hits the theatres on Friday, May 24, 2024. The film follows Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) as she embarks on a path of revenge against Dementus (Chris Hemsworth).

'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga' follows the journey of a young Furiosa who gets abducted by Dementus after he kills her mother Mary Jabassa (Charlee Fraser).

She later reaches Immortan Joe's (Lachy Hulme) Citadel as part of a negotiation between Dementus and Joe. As she grows older, her determination to return home to the Green Place of Many Mothers only grows stronger.

During her journey, she forms a close bond with Praetorian Jack (Tom Burke) who trains her and tries to help her escape when they unexpectedly encounter Dementus, who fails to recognize her after all these years.

Dementus, now a man devoid of any hope, kills Jack and chains Furiosa to his car. She watches Jack die but escapes by cutting her arm.

Does Furiosa get her revenge on Dementus? Here we explain the end of 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga'

Furiosa, aware of Dementus's intentions to attack Joe's kingdom, plans to exploit this knowledge to her advantage. After she escapes from Dementus, she makes her way back to the Citadel, where she informs Immortan Joe about Dementus's plot to conquer his kingdom.

As Joe prepares for war, Furiosa asks him to allow her to kill Dementus. Furiosa's appearance is reminiscent of her look in 'Mad Max: Fury Road', with her head shaved and sporting a mechanical prosthetic arm.

A hard-fought battle ensues between Dementus and Immortan Joe's warriors, resulting in Dementus's horde ultimately losing to the much better-equipped and trained forces.

Dementus and Furiosa share a unique relationship throughout the film. Dementus displays an unusual fondness for Furiosa, often referring to her affectionately as 'Little D'.

He gives her a teddy bear that belonged to his actual children who are supposedly dead. Whether this affection is genuine or merely one of the many mythical and perhaps delusional aspects of Dementus's character remains open to debate.

After his horde is killed, Furiosa chases Dementus down into the wide-open desert, where she confronts him and finally reveals her true identity to him.

As Dementus is down and there for the taking, he starts talking about Furiosa becoming a version of him, hopeless and a fierce warrior.

As Dementus taunts Furiosa, he is keenly aware of his impending death. In his characteristic fashion, he offers a mythical explanation for his death and requests that Furiosa end his life by shooting him.

Dementus's fate is shrouded in various versions and tales recounting how he met his end. The truth however is something else.

The History Man reveals what happened to Dementus

The History Man reveals the truth about the fate of Dementus. Defeated, Furiosa brings him back to the Citadel.

Furiosa's mother gives her a peach seed at the beginning of the film which she plants in Dementus' flesh. A tree grows out of Dementus with him having no way to escape it.

This tree acts as a potent metaphor for hope. By planting a seed in Dementus's flesh, Furiosa cultivates hope from a man who has taken countless lives and is convinced that hope is nonexistent.

As the film reaches its conclusion, we see a transition from 'Furiosa: The Max Max Saga' to the beginning of 'Mad Max: Fury Road'
