Spoilers for ‘From’ Season 2 Episode 4

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘From’ Season 2 has reached that point of the season where the curiosity about what is happening is at an all-time high. This doesn’t necessarily include the monsters but is more about how everything came to be. Undoubtedly, Jim Mathews has made it his mission from the first season to figure it out, and he might be coming close to cracking it, and if there’s one person who can help him, it is Donna Raines.

MGM+’s ‘From’ Season 2 has done a great job keeping their viewers on the edge of their seats so far, with bitten nails and wide eyes. However, with the season almost at its halfway mark, it might be time to start answering some of the questions that have been presented in this season, and the first one is, whether ‘From’ is going to take a dark, ‘Black Mirror’-esque turn.

What could be happening in ‘From’?

There are endless theories behind the monsters and the nightmarish town when it comes to ‘From’ but Jim Mathews might be close to cracking the code. If he does, there is a chance the second half of ‘From’ Season 2 will be more about the people trying to get out rather than succumbing to their fates. In the previous episodes, before everything went wrong, Jim had picked up a radio signal, which was only heard by him and Donna. The signal was of a man, which sounded more like a threat than a warning, despite Jim’s confusion. Jim’s theory has taken ‘From’ to a ‘Black Mirror’ level, because he is convinced that there are people outside watching him and everyone in town, like an experiment of sorts.

Donna has warned Jim to not do anything that could trigger the people outside if that is the case. The more they discuss it, the more viewers are convinced that this might actually be a possibility, and a good one at that!

Who could be watching the town?

This wouldn’t be the first time a series could be experimenting with something like that. Whether it is ‘Black Mirror’ or ‘Squid Game’, the concept of people seeking pleasure from watching others being experimented on has been used before, and worked wonders. So, this town could have been created by someone who then trapped people from different backgrounds to see how it works. While this is possible, it would likely take away from the supernatural theme which has been well-established in both seasons. It is, hopefully, only a matter of time before we find out what exactly is happening, and whether or not these characters will survive.

You can stream 'From' Season 2 on MGM+ from 23 April 2023.
