NBC's 'Chicago Med' Season 11 made its comeback after its midseason finale, and things are heating up like never before. True to its title, the latest episode, named 'Triple Threat,' featured three major storylines, focusing on the aftermath of the power outage and the complications faced by the doctors. From one beloved doctor contemplating retirement to another dealing with detectives, the stakes have never been higher on 'Chicago Med.'

The episode opens with Dr Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) in therapy, recounting a heartbreaking transplant case from the night of the blackout. A donor heart meant for a woman named Linda was jeopardised after it was discovered she had attempted an overdose, despite her sister's desperate pleas after years of waiting. Unable to recommend Linda for the transplant, Charles faced her sister's anger and clashed with Dr Justin Morris (Lee Jones) over who deserved the heart.

Haunted by the decision, Charles admits he's constantly thinking about retirement, making his therapist sense he's still holding something back about what truly happened, as per One Chicago Center. After his confrontation with Dr Morris, it was shown that Dr Charles suffered a panic attack in the elevator, which was his first since medical school, and experienced a nosebleed, leaving him worried that something more serious might be wrong.

Talking about the second storyline, in the midseason finale, Dr Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) goes to Devin (Jack Falahee) and Faye's (Olivia Nikkanen). She visited them to check on Faye after Devin arrived at Med with suspicious injuries, only to discover he had assaulted her again and left her injured in the basement, before knocking Lenox unconscious as the fall finale ended. Through Lenox's interview with a detective and flashbacks, the episode reveals that after Devin knocked Lenox unconscious, both she and Dr Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) were captured and restrained.

While Devin insisted he wouldn't hurt Faye, she pretended she would run away with him to protect the doctors, even as her injuries worsened. When Devin refused to get her medical help, Faye fought back, and with Lenox's help, Devin was ultimately overpowered and knocked out, as per TV Insider. Lenox explains her military and combat training to counter the detective's doubts, then recounts that after she went to call 9-1-1, Devin broke free and attacked Ripley, prompting Faye to shoot him in self-defense.

While the detective remains unconvinced, the truth is that Faye shot Devin after getting his gun as he tried to manipulate her into killing Ripley, with Lenox later freeing Ripley. Afterward, Lenox and Ripley question each other's risky choices, hinting the ordeal may bring them closer. Next storyline focused on Dr Dean Archer (Steven Weber) and Dr Jennifer Kingston (Merrin Dungey) , who despite the power outage continued a risky surgery instead of moving the patient, and thankfully, Jeremy woke up and even felt his baby kick, though his time remains limited.

Archer then confronts Dr Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) about her distance, saying, "I just want my friend back," and she admits to recurring nightmares about dying in the delivery room like her mother. She worries that if their child is a girl, the nightmare will overwhelm her. When the power returns at that moment, Archer calls it a sign that they need to talk more often. Near the end of the episode, Archer visits Hannah, and she bravely opens the envelope, confirming they're having a girl. He reassures her that history doesn't have to repeat itself and hopes their daughter will be like her mother, and the two bond by deciding to watch a movie together.
