FOX's '9-1-1: Lone Star': All you need to know about the upcoming OG crime procedural spin-off starring Rob Lowe
If you are the kind who finds great thrill and excitement in crime procedurals, rescue missions, and similar things, then you are a in for an ultimate treat starting January 19, 2020.
Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear are back with a spin on their original show '9-1-1'. This time, the team moves from sunny Los Angeles to the Lone Star state capital of Austin, Texas.
Of course, coming from the same creators, the core elements of the show would be quite similar, but not the same. And you can definitely expect a lot of twists and dramatic turns, considering the star power that the new series packs.
For those who haven't watched the OG series, here's a quick background. '9-1-1' followed the lives of first responders, including firefighters, police officers, paramedics, 9-1-1 dispatchers and more. While the earlier series revolved around officials of LA, the upcoming one is set in Austin.
The second most significant thing to look forward to is, needless to say, Rob Lowe. We have loved him in 'The West Wing' and 'Parks and Recreation'. He will be taking the lead as Capt. Owen Strand, who has relocated from New York to Austin with his son.
The series will see Lowe in his heroic best, saving lives, while he also struggles with his personal challenges. He might be all New York City swag on the outside, but deep down, he hides a side to his personality, which we will slowly discover in the course of the plot.
Adapting to the Texan life, Strand will build a team from the ground up, with some of the most brilliant firefighters and turn them into the city's legends.
Watching him as a savior of the city, a captain, and a father, all in one, can be quite interesting and we cannot wait to see his character come to life.
Last but not least, how can we forget Liv Tyler? The former model, actor, singer, and producer is a delight to watch and our eyes are all set on watching Lowe and Tyler work out an excellent chemistry on screen.
She will feature as the wry but brilliant police officer, Michelle Blake, who rules Austin, in quite her own way. She is cold but nails the mystery behind every disaster that hits her town and its people.
Blake is not quite fond of Strand at first but soon they will have to figure out a way to work as a team instead of stepping onto each other's toes.
If you are not hands-on with the OG '9-1-1', you might just want to do it and get an idea of Murphy's work. And if you have, then sneak a peek at the trailer of the new series coming this January.
'9-1-1: Lone Star' will premiere on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 10 pm/9c, only on FOX. Thereafter, you can catch it weekly on Mondays, same time, same place.
