NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The hosts at the Fox News morning show have been supportive of Governor of California Gavin Newsom possibly running in the Presidential race. However, his recent comments about the Biden-Harris Administration appear to have put their hopes away.

In a recent interview with CNN, Newsom sang praises of the POTUS and the VP Kamala Harris for their term so far, calling their administration "the most outstanding in the last two decades".

The hosts are not happy with the direction Newsom appears to be taking because it was previously speculated that he might join Biden in the race for leadership.

'Joe Biden's age and Harris' competency'

Host Brian Kilmeade brought up the unpopularity of President Joe Biden, especially given the concerns about his age and his strange behavior during public appearances lately.

"People are wondering, talking behind the scenes about Joe Biden's age and Harris' competency," Kilmeade said, referring to Democrats being worried over the administration's second term. "It makes you wonder if people like Gavin Newsom are queueing themselves up to take the mantle rapidly, get a superpac going, and run in 2024."

Here, co-host Steve Doocy pointed out that while Newsom wants to run, the party has not supported his intentions to stand against the Bide-Harris duo.

"That's why, when he showed up on CNN yesterday, he said stuff like this," Doocy said, referring to the governor's repeated praises for the administration.

Fellow hosts Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt also took out polls of Democrat voters that disapprove of Biden as the leader for another term.

Biden is expected to be one of the three Democrats running for the ruling seat, while Trump and other GOP candidates continue their full-fledged campaigns.

Kilmeade criticized Biden and justified his unpopularity amongst voters.

"His approval rating has really not hit 40 in many polls, it's below it," Kilmeade said. "The economy 34%, when it comes to the border - my goodness - it could not be worse. And that hits every city and every state in the country, not just the border states. We're witnessing it and it can't stop."

"It doesn't look like he's got his hands on the wheel internationally," he went on to add. "Does anyone think he's been effective in supplying money and weapons at a timely rate, even to Ukraine?"

The Fox News host then commented that he didn't see many wins from President Biden but claimed Gov Newsom is "pretending" to see them "in between the smash and grabs taking place in his state."
