Nicholas Pinnock stars as Aaron Wallace, the show's protagonist. Best known for his roles on 'Marcella', 'Top Boy' and 'Criminal: UK', Pinnock began his career in London at the age of 12 as a child actor, starring multiple advertisements, music videos, film, and television - most notably, a role in the series 'Mr Magus is Waiting for You.' He later did a three-year musical theater course, after which he joined Lea Anderson's Contemporary Dance Company, and has performed in television, theater and film. His first Hollywood break came with a role as a SHIELD tech in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', but soon got a more significant role with 'Top Boy'.

Indira Varma

Indira Varma plays Safia Masry, the warden overseeing the prison that Aaron Wallace is in. Masry's first major role was in the racy 'Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love', also starring in a number of other Indian English-language films such as 'Bride & Prejudice' and 'Jinnah'. She's also recognizable from her role as Ellaria Sand on 'Game of Thrones'. In addition, she has starred in a number of theatrical productions, such as 'Othello', 'Ivanov' and 'Titus Andronicus'.

Joy Bryant

Curtis Jackson, popularly known as rapper 50 Cent, is an executive producer of the show but also stars in it as Cassius Dawkins, an inmate introduced late in the season who has been a bit of a wild card, causing problems for Aaron Wallace and his family. 50 Cent began his rise to fame in 1996 after being introduced to Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC, making his debut on 'React' with Onyx, for their 1998 album 'Shut 'Em Down' - his career has only skyrocketed since then.
