Ji-won (Moon Chae-won) now knows the truth. She knows that her husband is not really Hee-seong, but Hyun-soo (Lee Joon-gi). While she doesn't know why Hee-seong's parents would let him take over their son's life, she is set on finding out the truth in 'Flower of Evil' Episode 7. So she first goes back to the counseling center where Hyun-soo was treated as a child and from the videos, it seems that his antisocial behavior disorder has resulted in a lack of empathy which has sometimes even pushed him to the extent of hurting others.

She then hears about the tape that was Hyun-soo's trigger. From when he was a child, Hyun-soo seemed attached to this particular walkman with a tape of a woman humming a lullaby, and every time someone tried to interrupt him or touch the walkman he would end up acting out violently. He did so as a child and he continued to do so as an adult as well. After collecting enough background information about Hyun-soo, she decides to corner him further by revealing to her husband that she has decided to catch Hyun-soo. She tells him that she wants to do so to get a promotion and a smoother way ahead in her career.

This surprises Hyun-soo who had never thought that his wife was ambitious. However, Ji-won is getting back at Hyun-soo for lying to her for 14 years. So now, she believes that it is her turn. So she lies to him, takes him to Hyun-soo's father's workshop to take a look at Hyun-soo's work as he seemed quite interested in working with metals. So she wants her husband who is still acting as Hee-seong to take a look at this work and spread the word around in his association as he also worked with metal himself.

Once they get to the workshop, she tells him that she wants to visit the crime scene, and here she plays the tape that she found out in Hyun-soo's bag. What was Hyun-soo's trigger in the past could still be his trigger and Ji-won wants to see how Hyun-soo would react if he were taken back to the most traumatic moment of his life. It is extremely cathartic. When Ji-won sees Hyun-soo almost pass out after an anxiety attack, for a moment, she regrets pushing him so hard. But then, what if he really is a killer? Ji-won wants to ensure that a criminal doesn't go unpunished and in this vein, she does everything possible to get Hyun-soo to confess.

However, it is Hyun-soo's sister Hae-soo who confesses, and she does so to Moo-jin. After watching his broadcast that speculates how Hyun-soo could have been an accomplice to his father. He plays the tape that he got from a witness in the past, and the same has brought the attention back to the Yeonju City serial murder case. Hyun-soo's father was accused of committing the murders and before he could stand trial, he had died by suicide. Moo-jin recalls all of this during the broadcast and Hae-soo who sees this reaches out to him.

She used to date Moo-jin and from his reaction upon seeing her, it looks like Moo-jin still has feelings for her. So when he tries to hit on her again and asks her how she has been doing, she is visibly uncomfortable. The minute he begins to blame Hyun-soo for not thinking of her and leading a happy life, she loses her temper and tells Moo-jin that she was the one who killed the Village Foreman.

The episode ends with this shocking revelation and leaves us wondering why Hyun-soo was blamed for the murder and for being an accomplice to his father. If it wasn't Hyun-soo, who called the witness to threaten her? That is exactly what Ji-won and Hyun-soo will be finding out in the upcoming episodes.

'Flower of Evil' will air on tvN on Wednesday and Thursday at 10.50 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
