'Flack' season 1 finale spoilers: The drama in Robyn's life comes to an end while Melody and Eve go down different paths
The season finale of 'Flack' will see Robyn, Melody and Eve go down different paths and come out getting hurt despite all the precautions that they have learnt to take
In the season finale of Anna Paquin starrer 'Flack', Robyn figures out what she wants from life while Melody (Rebecca Benson) goes down a path with no return. Eve (Lydia Wilson) finally understands that her brash behavior adds no brownie points in her relationship with Tom (Marc Warren) as she tries to find different ways to argue with him, assuming that it will keep him entertained and by her side. She knows how to get under his skin and that is what gets on his nerves the most.
In the last episode, we saw Robyn finally let loose, and make a decision that goes against the grain. This is, however, not going to be the awakening — it will just remain a distraction making the fifth episode of 'Flack' the best that the show could offer.
In the final episode, we will see Robyn, Eve and Melody get ready for a celebrity wedding of the decade when they help a gay football player get married. In the same wedding, Robyn will also help another broke player by telling him to out himself as gay, specifically, to enjoy the privileges that would come with being the first openly gay player in the history, and not to mention the money.
While this will be the scandal of the episode, the conclusion to the series is nothing but a one-line explanation behind Robyn's every action since the beginning — the magic of the 'F*** it button' as Tom would say.
This button is what pushes Robyn and Tom to do things that they know will mess things up, but they are tempted and say 'F*** it' to do it anyway. While Robyn keeps many secrets from Sam (Arinze Kene), the one that we should expect to surface is the fact that she is on birth control pills while trying to get pregnant. Eve will also learn the truth about the mess that Robyn really is. The woman that she had idolized since the beginning, will break faith with her actions in the last episode and there is nothing that Eve could do, but process it all. With this, Eve remains one of the most interesting characters in the show that was otherwise bland.
Melody, who began as a straight-A shooting intern will end up going down a path with no return trying to imitate her boss Robyn. This will, of course, not end well and we can expect Robyn to fire Melody for her own good. The underlying insult — because being Robyn will come to mean being one hot mess — will add to the injury.
The season finale will mark Robyn being cut off from everyone in her life including her sister Ruth. Robyn will face her worst fears as her sister begins to see their late mother in Robyn. In the end, Robyn will have just one night to deal with the mare's nest before the day breaks and, with it, brings other scandals she must be ready to fix. The ending of the show also leaves space for another season, but the abstract ending will serve the purpose of a climax for now.
