'Filthy Rich' Finale: Reporter Luke is alive, whose murder did Eric confess of after being unable to take guilt?
Spoilers for 'Filthy Rich' Episode 10: '1 Corinthians 3:13'
In the series finale of FOX's Southern Gothic dramedy, 'Filthy Rich', a dead man comes back to life - we have to be dramatic, it's a soap. The last episode 'Romans 12:21' saw Eric Monreaux (Corey Cott) tell his mother Margaret Monreaux (Kim Cattrall) that he was the one responsible for Luke Taylor (Cranston Johnson) the reporter's death. In the finale, Eric is seen so unable to take the guilt, that he signs a confession that he was responsible for Luke's death. One thing though - Luke walks in right after thanking him for saving them the trip to go arrest Eric themselves.
Eric, at first, seems relieved saying that since Luke is alive, then the cops have nothing on him. Luke, who's part of the FBI tells Eric that just because he wasn't successful at the crime, doesn't mean the crime didn't happen. Luke reveals that the 1820 tribe has grown over the years - they are not people internationally as well. He wants Eric to spy on his family, figure out what 1820 wants. Eric doesn't want to spy on his family, even thpugh he's being blackmailed, but Luke gives him 24 hours to decide and think about leaving his newborn daughter fatherless. Turns out, while Eric didn't confess to a murder, he did run away thinking he had committed one. Crimes were always present. Fans of the series, although sad that this is the last episode of the series, called out Eric on being a 'dummy', as they were shocked to see Luke alive.
"Rose was right. Eric is a little b. He's just gonna sign off on a confession without his own attorney present? Lawd... #FilthyRichFOX," wrote one user. "Eric, you damn dummy lmao #FilthyRichFOX," wrote another user. Some too, were confused a bit with one user tweeting, "Is Eric seeing things or was Luke undercover? #FilthyRichFOX" Others weren't surprised, and wondered if more people are going to come back from the dead besides Eugene Monreaux (Gerald McRaney) and Luke - "LUKE! Guess everyone is rising from the dead on #FilthyRichFOX. Anyone else? Hagamond? Paul? Elvis?," wrote another fan.

Luke also meets up with Eugene - they offer Eugene witness protection, a fresh start. Eugene didn't take Luke's advice and instead decides to make it to his daughter Rose's wedding. Others also brought up an evening greater questions - "Does Ginger know Luke is alive and is a federal agent? #FilthyRichFOX," wrote one fan.
