The upcoming Netflix young adult adventure drama 'Fate: The Winx Saga' is inspired by the older animated series by Nickelodeon 'Winx Club'. Created by Iginio Straffi, the series is produced by Archery Pictures in association with Rainbow - the latter being a studio that Straggi co-owns with ViacomCBS. If you liked 'Harry Potter' as a child, 'Fate: The Winx Saga' is definitely for you, not to mention it would join the money young adult drama that has been making onto the streaming giant's platform as of late. Release date

'Fate: The Winx Saga' releases on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, "'Fate: The Winx Saga' follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries and the monsters that threaten their very existence. From creator Brian Young ('The Vampire Diaries'), 'Fate: The Winx Saga' is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon Winx Club from Iginio Straffi."

Abigail Cowen as Bloom

Cowen is known for her roles as Dorcas in 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' (2018-2020), Vicki Charmichael in 'Stranger Things' (2017), and Ricochet in 'The Power Couple' (2019). Her other recent works include 'The Fosters' (2018), 'I still Believe' (2020) and 'Wisdom of the Crowd' (2017-2018). She has two other releases in post-production titled 'Witch Hunt' where she will play the role of Fiona and 'Redeeming Love' where she will play Angel.

Danny Griffin as Sky

Griffin is known for his roles as Aslan in 'The Gentlemen' (2019), Shane in 'Get Even' (2020), and Danny in 'Free Rain' (2017). His other works include 'Surviving Christmas with the Relatives' (2018), and 'So Awkward' (2019).

Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella

Westhuysen is known for her roles as Becca in 'The Bay of Silence' (2020), and Heather in 'Grantchester' (2020). Her other works include 'Keen Eddie' in 2004, 'Frankenstein' (2004), and 'Get Lost!' (2018). She has an announced released titled 'Lamborghini' where she will play Clelia Monti and a release titled 'Sleeping Arrangements' in post-production where she will be playing the role of Claire.

The rest of the cast includes Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Eliot Salt as Terra, Theo Graham as Dane, Jacob Dudman as Sam, Robert James-Collier as Silva, Eve Best as Farah Dowling, Eva Birthistle, Josh Cowdery and Alex Macqueen.

Creators

The creators of the series are Iginio Straffi and Brian Young. Lisa James Larsson, Hannah Quinn and Stephen Woolfenden direct the series and Judy Counihan, Iginio Straffi, Kris Thykier and Brian Young serve as executive producers. Jon Finn, Macdara Kelleher and John Keville serve as producers.
