Jeongyeon's fans slam trolls for fat-shaming her at TWICE's LA concert: 'Get a life'

This is Jeongyeon's first offline concert after the hiatus she took for her mental health

Fans were excited when girl group TWICE announced their fourth world tour ‘III’ by adding a ‘coming soon’ poster at the end of the music video of ‘The Feels’. They kicked it off by having a three-day concert in Seoul. Unfortunately, Jeongyeon wasn’t present as she had taken a hiatus for her mental health. Hence, ONCEs (TWICE’s fandom) were overjoyed when she joined her K-pop group on the American leg of the tour which began in LA on February 15.

Held at The Forum in Inglewood, this is Jeongyeon’s first offline concert after her hiatus. There were several cute and adorable moments like Momo guiding her when she forgot the steps to the girls hugging her at the end of the concert. ONCEs were also in love with her outfits from the red plaid outfit and satin blue dress to the black pants and gold sequined mini. TWICE fans present at the concert shared photos of her, hyping her up. Unfortunately, some trolls decided to fat-shame Jeongyeon.

While in the past, Jeongyeon was often praised for being skinny and having an almost size-zero figure, K-pop Twitter noticed that she had put on some weight in mid-2021. An insider reported that she couldn’t maintain the usual figure that K-pop agencies force their female idols to have since she was allegedly taking steroids for her surgery and anxiety medicines for her mental health. But that has not stopped anti-fans from fat-shaming and mocking the TWICE star.

There were two photos in particular that started making the rounds late at night on February 16. While ONCEs were showering Jeongyeon with support and loving the outfit which was a sleek black pant and sequined crop top paired with a net jacket, trolls decided to leave nasty comments. Some insensitive users made tweets like, “She should leave twice she is too fat,” “She ATE but not in a good way,” and “This b¡tch is an 0bese c0w omgg!” Even a user who claimed to be a TWICE fan commented, “We still love you baby even if you're obese.”

'You will never be her'

Fans and non-fans were horrified and slammed back, “Not a fan but she is🔥😩 Ignore my co-fandom they are jealous.” Another hyped-up Jeongyeon, “She looks absolutely gorgeous.” One fan posted, “The hottest woman in the world yoo Jeongyeon.” One user was touched as Jeongyeon was not ashamed or trying to hide her body shape, “This means a lot to me.” Another added, “All the negative qrts are going straight to hell like y'all truly do not gotta comment on another person's body that you don't even know. get a life and learn how to be a good person before you worry her.” One fan added, “Those who are saying disgusting things in the qrts you're mad because you will never be her. JEONGYEON BEST GIRL.”
