'Modern Family' Season 11 may be going downhill, but fans still want to see more of Cam and Mitch high as a kite

One of television’s most-watched sitcoms 'Modern Family' is currently in its last season and has garnered all kinds of reactions from viewers.

Although the creators of the show, prior to the premiere of 'Modern Family' Season 11, had stated that they were planning on experimenting with the characters to achieve the closure they deserve, fans have a different say about the demonstration they've been exposed to all season.

'Modern Family' Season 11 is being subjected to extreme scrutiny on social media for its lack of creativity. After entertaining us for over a decade and earning numerous accolades for the same, the show was expected to offer its best so far.

However, all we have got to see in Season 11 is only a repeated plotline and characters in a constant display of absurdity, which isn’t serving us so well. Episode 8 ‘Tree's A Crowd' was also seen taking multiple plunges into the sinkhole of unoriginality.

Reacting to the latest episode a fan wrote, "I might stop watching #ModernFamily for a while. It's literally going downhill with each episode. Thank you guys for the warning though."

But some authentic fans of the comedy series are still clutching at straws, hoping to see more of Mitch and Cam as a fun-filled couple, that they used to once be.

"'You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists, well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground' — Cameron Tucker. I  #ModernFamily," one of Cameron’s fans tweeted.

Despite Mitch and Cam's misadventures being limited within the boundaries of their extended family and circle of friends, we have seen them take on a fun ride once under the influence of a few substances.

Watching Cam and Mitch trip on sleeping pills at the airport and aboard during one of the family trips left us in splits, and that's exactly the sort of dynamic we expect from this couple.

And another time when Mitch and Phil slipped a cannabis-infused gummy bear during Comic-Con and returned home to deal with their mischievous children as high as kites.

"Can we get another episode with high Phil and Mitchell before we have to say goodbye?! #modernfamily," asked another fan. Well, we need to wait and watch if this will ever come true!
