Only a week after its release, the album, ‘Delusion: Dilemma’ from Enhypen sells 800k units from their first studio album breaking their own record

Seven months after the release of her last regular album, ‘Lilac’ which dominated charts globally, the singing sensation IU has released her new romantic, peppy single, ‘Strawberry Moon’ on the midnight of October 19. ‘Strawberry Moon’ is a pop-rock song with a delicate voice and dreamy music. The song is also combined with electronic elements while the music video was supported with a romantic storyline backed with light rhythm as well as electronic elements throughout.

Just like every other song from pop sensation and the Queen of Music, IU, ‘Strawberry Moon’ has become an overnight success. Edam Entertainment announced that the song was ranked at Number 1 on Melon Top 100 chart only hours after its release. The song ‘Strawberry Moon’ was written by IU was both written and composed by IU herself. The song has additional composition credits by producer Lee Jonghoon who worked with IU on her songs like ‘Zeze’ and ‘Red Queen’ as well as producer Lee Chaegyu.

‘Strawberry Moon’ music video

The music video for the song, 'Strawberry Moon' by IU was released at the same time as the release of the song. The visuals for the song were directed by Flipevil, who also worked with IU on the video for ‘Lilac’ that was released back in March. The music video features the South Korean actor and model, Lee Jongwon who plays IU’s male lead and lover in the video.

IU released the song at 12 am KST (11:30 am ET) instead of continuing the K-pop trend of releasing songs at 6 pm KST (5 am ET). It is said that songs that release during midnight find it really difficult to make it to the ‘Top 100’ charts which are updated hourly, through competition with existing songs that have accumulated usage over the last 24 hours.

IU tops multiple charts

Despite having all odds against her, IU was successful in taking the topmost spot on major music sites for her digital single, ‘Strawberry Moon’. The song not only topped charts overnight but also continued to maintain the top spot on real-time charts on major music sites proving how worthy IU is of her title as the ‘Queen of Music’.

With the single, ‘Strawberry Moon’ IU has recorded her third Realtime All-Kill by ranking Number 1 on MelOn, FLO, Genie, and Bugs charts simultaneously keeping. The song has also ranked Number 1 on multiple iTunes, MelOn, Bugs, Vibe on their multiple daily as well as weekly charts making the song an overnight success.

'IU Korea's pride'

Fans have started talking about IU's global domination as she releases the song at midnight and the song already topping several charts. Fans started calling her the Queen of Music by saying, "Nothing new, IU definitely the queen of korean music industry. You have problem? Then I don't care." One fan said, "Lord IU." One more fan said, "Not suprise. The supreme of BTS and IU at Korea is amazing."

One fan pointed, "A midnight release did that." One fan pointed, "IU. Queen of Korean music industry." Another fan said, "IU is the Queen Yasmin of South Korea! Queen of releasing new music!! Eme HAHAHAHHHAHAHA SOBRANG GANDA MO PO!!!"
