Will Ewan McGregor join the MCU? 'Star Wars' star 'not looking for it particularly'

'I don't know. I don't know that I want to do that,' the Scottish actor said, while also adding he would love to do more 'Star Wars' content

Ewan McGregor will always be considered Obi-Wan Kenobi. The actor has become a household name for playing the iconic character in 'The Phantom Menace' and reprising his role in 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith'. He later returned as the veteran Jedi in his own standalone Disney+ series, 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' and after a DC project as part of his decorated filmography, questions were asked if he would foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Starring McGregor who reprised his role as Obi, the miniseries revolves around the aftermath of Anakin Skywalker's turn to the Dark Force and the scar it leaves on his teacher.  The series is set halfway between the two trilogies: a decade after 'Revenge of the Sith' and nine years before 'The New Hope'.

Will Ewan McGregor join the MCU?

By his own admission, the Scottish actor will not suit up for the MCU anytime soon. Talking to comicbook during the Fan Expo Boston earlier this weekend, he said: "I don't know. I don't know that I want to do that." He also added, "Because I love doing all different kinds of work. It's true. I love to direct. I'd like to be in the theater again. I definitely want to do this again, you know, I'm in this Star Wars world. I feel like I don't need another... I'm not looking for that anyway. I feel like I shouldn't say I wouldn't do it because in two years' time you'll be like, 'You said you were never going to do this!' But I'm not looking for it particularly."

There is no official sequel announcement for 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' yet, but the series does tie up things rather neatly. There's still enough story that the movies tell, but if this was all about Vader vs Obi, then the series nails it by telling an emotional tale in six episodes, all of which are streaming on Disney+.
