Season 6 episode 11 of ‘Empire’ saw Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) shoot and kill Tracy (Amanda Detmer), in an attempt to save her own life. Even as Andre (Trai Byers) prepared for the company to launch the trailer for their biographical film ‘Birth of an Empire’, things were going bad for the Lyons scion. He was still getting hallucinations and disassociating from time to time.

At the same time, Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie finally got divorced, marking the end of an era, even as the show nears its grand finale. And while Cookie was busy trying to find a new sound for her label, Lucious got an opportunity to seize control of his life once again (post his outset from Empire) as Yana (Kiandra Richardson) approaches him to launch her music.

So, what’s up next in Fox’s music industry drama?

Per IMDb, season 6 episode 12, titled ‘Talk Less’, will see Lucious hunt for a record deal for Yana. He is, however, met with surprising feedback from the label executives. Cookie will struggle with her inability to shake memories of the secret she's kept for so many years.

In the promo for episode 12, Lucious, talking about the chaos in the music industry (the violence, the money laundering and more), says, “I submitted to this chaos, I assure you.” This is typical of the Lyons patriarch: always cocky, always confident, and always smug.

We also see the hallucination of Kingsley (A. Z. Kingston) taking more and more control over Andre, to the point where Teri (Meta Golding), to whom Andre confessed about his mental health issues in the last episode, ends up admitting, “Andre is not the same person anymore.” She is not wrong. The once-ambitious heir to the figurative and literal Empire, Andre, now on the throne, was only surrounded by self-doubt and pain.

Further ahead in the promo, we see Cookie tell Lucious, "He could take down everything we built!” It’s not clear who Cookie is talking about, but what is clear is that since shooting Tracy, she has not been in the right mental state. But guns were not the fixture of episode 11 alone. At the very end of the promo, we see Lucious draw a gun on his son Andre.

As the show inches towards its end, one thing is abundantly clear: every episode now is going to be explosive.

‘Empire’ Season 6 airs Tuesdays 9 pm ET/PT only on Fox.
