CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: MGM+'s latest thriller series 'Emperor of Ocean Park' has introduced enough suspense to keep us hooked for further episodes.
It opens with a young woman finding Judge Oliver Garland (Forest Whitaker) lying dead on floor at his office.
The news brings shock to his three grown up children- Addison (Henry Simmons), Mariah (Tiffany Mack) and Talcott (Grantham Coleman), who gather for the funeral services, hindered by the arrival of an unexpected guest.
Who arrives at Judge Garland's funeral in 'Emperor of Ocean Park' Episode 1 climax?
As Talcott mourns the dead of his father at the funeral by the end of the episode, he is greeted by an old man named Jack Ziegler (Torrey Hanson).
Jack is introduced as a former CIA operative who now makes headlines for his dirty business. The episode highlights that Jack has been accused of money laundering, illegal arms sales and contract killings.
He is also reported to have used US government's secrets to build a million dollar fortune for himself.
Judge Garland and Jack were college pals before they chose different careers. Yet, they probably remained in touch. When Jack got into illegal business, people began suspecting Judge's integrity too.
What does Jack Ziegler want from Talcott Garland in 'Emperor of Ocean Park'?
At the funeral, Jack asks about the "arrangements" which Talcott says he is unaware of. Jack mentions that Judge Garland made arrangements in case of his untimely death and now since he is dead, Talcott must be knowing about it.
Jack goes on to mention that many others will come to him asking about the same but he should inform him first if he doesn't want his family to be harmed.
At this point, both Talcott and the viewers are clueless about the arrangements Jack is talking about. It is one of the mysteries which could also explain if Judge was actually murdered, as suspected by Mariah.
