Emmys 2019: Fans laud Peter Dinklage GoT victory, thrilled by his 'it's over I don't care' statement

The Game of Throne star won his fourth Emmy for his role of Tyrion Lannister and the internet was excited about his win.

Peter Dinklage made history as he won his fourth Emmy at this years Emmy Awards. The actor received the award for supporting actor in a drama for his role as Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO show 'Game of Thrones'. Previously, the actor won the awards in 2011, 2015 and 2018. After Peter's win was announced fans were quick to express their joy on hearing this news. Many noted that the actor deserved the award as he played a remarkable role throughout the series.

"Peter Dinklage aka Tyrion Lannister deserves this award because the roller coaster of emotions he put me through in GOT #Emmys," wrote one user. Actress Lili Reinhart, who is best known for her role of Betty on 'Riverdale', also took to Twitter to express her happiness on hearing Peter's win. 

"Just dabbed really hard when they announced Peter Dinklage won the Emmy," she noted. Others noted how the actor was one of the reasons that season 8 of the show did well. "Never forget that Peter Dinklage's Tyrion was the main reason why Bran sat on the iron throne #Emmys," noted another.

Others drew attention to his acting skills while noting that his character always had the charm to attract and interact with the audience. "Peter Dinklage deserves all the awards. He's been brilliant in everything since the Station Agent. #Emmys" read the comment. 

Meanwhile, many acknowledged the speech given by Peter after receiving his award. "Peter Dinklage cursing during his speech and then saying 'It’s over I don’t care' was peak Tyrion #Emmys," a fan wrote. While another added, "Peter Dinklage getting bleeped and saying "Hey, it's over, I don't care" is a mood. #Emmys." 

Peter also acknowledged his fellow cast members in his speech as he noted, "We literally walked through fire and ice for you. Literally. And I'd do it all again in a heartbeat." The actor further thanked for being given a platform where he could showcase his skills.
