Emmy Nominations 2022: Biggest show of the year 'Yellowstone' snubbed again, fans call awards a JOKE
Paramount+ blockbuster series 'Yellowstone' was snubbed again during the Emmy Nominations 2022 and fans of the Kevin Costner-starrer, safe to say, were beyond annoyed. The series termed as anti-woke failed to get recognized in the Best Drama category. The lead star of the show, Kevin Costner was left off the list as well. While the series often draws parallels to HBO's Succession, the latter making the cut had fans calling it overrated.
The series puts the spotlight on rural America where local businesses are bleeding wealth and power in a changing country landscape. The latest snub makes 'Yellowstone' the most ignored by the Emmys. The nominees for Best Outstanding Drama were 'Better Call Saul' (AMC), 'Euphoria' (HBO), 'Ozark' (Netflix), 'Severance' (Apple TV+), 'Squid Game' (Netflix), 'Stranger Things' (Netflix), 'Succession' (HBO), and 'Yellowjackets' (Showtime).
Moving on to Twitter's two cents, "I am annoyed: - This Is Us fully shut out - Yellowstone fully shut out - Black-ish fully shut out - no Sadie Sink - no Yvonne Orji - all this love for overrated Succession #Emmys" one of the tweets read. "Yep, probably very little overlap between people who watch Yellowstone and people who watch the #Emmys," another tweeted. "Give me a break this is a joke right? Not 1 nomination for Yellowstone? Lol what a joke the #Emmys have become," one of the comments read.
"now that Yellowstone has been nominated for no Emmys does this mean I can stop trying to catch up on it??? Has anyone seen it and feels passionate about someone carrying on with it as it gets better???" a fan asked. "Seriously the fact that #Yellowstone was not nominated for even 1 Emmy, not for best drama, actor, supporting etc, but. Shows like Squid Game, Yellowjackets and even a bad season of Sucession tells me all I need to know about the #Emmys and the selections committee," a fan lashed out.
"The best actress currently on television continuously being snubbed by The Emmys due to some misconception of @Yellowstone's political leanings is nothing short of criminal," a fan wrote. "Thrilled for #Severance and #PamandTommy but nothing for #Yellowstone is absolutely ridiculous. #Emmys," a fan opined.
