LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There should be no doubt that Elizabeth Olsen is an outstanding actress, as she repeatedly demonstrated time and again just how good she is at her craft. Her recent work as Candy Montgomery in HBO's 'Love & Death' has earned her rave reviews for her characterization of a woman accused of murdering a friend but found innocent after an eight-day trial.

Emmy winner David E Kelley created ‘Love & Death’, and it has been claimed that the actress dislikes the idea of being a part of true-crime stories, but Kelley's approach persuaded her to join. Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, and Krysten Ritter also appear on the show. But, if we're going to talk about Elizabeth Olsen, how can we not mention Marvel? In a recent conversation, the actress revealed whether Wanda has a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

‘I’m not doing anything for Marvel’

During a recent video episode of the 'Awards Circuit Podcast', Elizabeth Olsen talks about her future as Scarlet Witch in Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actress who was introduced to the audience in 2015’s ‘Age of Ultron’ was most recently seen reprising her role in 2022’s ‘Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness’.

Upon asking if she would be returning as Scarlet Witch for ‘WandaVision’ spinoff show ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ starring Kathryn Hahn, she said, “Someone asked me if I would be ‘returning’, and they said, for instance, ‘are we going to see you in ‘this thing.'” And I said, ‘Well, I hope I’m returning.’ I’m not ‘returning’ to anything right now. I’m not doing anything for Marvel. Nothing, and it’s not that I’m trying to be cheeky. They’ll let me know when they’ll let me know," as per Variety.

Olsen also mentioned in her interview that she does not miss it as she did two years straight of filming for Marvel and then promotions so right now feels like a much-needed break for her and it has been good. The actress said, “I need to build other characters. It’s important for me. I’m grateful for this show ‘Love & Death’ because it came at a great time — after playing Wanda for two years straight, and then I had to talk about it for another year. So it’s nice having something else to focus on and highlight.”

‘If the whole thing were to collapse today, I would feel proud of what we’ve built'

In her interview, Olsen was asked about Wanda’s dark turn in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and what kind of things she might be looking to explore the character of Wanda in the probable future. Olsen said, “I’m really proud of the fact that we’ve done so much already. If the whole thing were to collapse today, I would feel proud of what we’ve built, and I think we entertained the fans. I think it was surprising, and it wasn’t part of a formula that you could chalk it all up to, so I’m proud of what we made," as per Harper's Bazaar. As for Wanda’s future, Elizabeth said that she does not know but mentioned that her grief is becoming a bit repetitive.

With this, Elizabeth Olsen becomes the latest member from the MCU to comment on her future with the franchise after Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Elizabeth Olsen’s new show ‘Love & Death’ is streaming on HBO.
