'Dynasty' Season 4: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the rebooted soap opera on The CW
The CW's prime time soap opera 'Dynasty' might not have been able to live up to the looming success and critical acclaim of its 80's original of the same name, but in terms of guilty pleasure and entertaining glitz, glamor and gab, the three-year-long show has seen a steady rise, both on its original network and on Netflix, where it streams shortly after each season finishes airing on The CW.
With the current climate, it is the clash of clans between the Carringtons and the Colbys that are sure to keep us occupied and binging for days until the upcoming fourth season finally drops. But should it drop anytime soon, or whenever, for that matter, here's a little something to stay updated about what Season 4 might entail.
Release date
Despite its not so favorable ratings for Season 3, The CW greenlit yet another run for the drama. Usually the season premieres come around October, with Season 3 premiering on October 11, 2019, and wrapping up on May 8, 2020. However, given the current crisis, Season 3 itself was cut shorter and reduced to a 20-episode run, so it's highly unlikely that production would begin any time soon for Season 4. Even if it manages to start later this year, 'Dynasty' Season 4 is not expected to premiere any time before 2021. Until then fans can always go through the runs and reruns of the existing seasons, with Season 3 getting added to Netflix just days ago on May 23.
Plot
The end of Season 3 was an expected, dreaded mess. Cristal tried warning Adam and Liam to not head to Moldavia, repeatedly, but they did and landed in a predicament more difficult than ever. The two got captured for Liam's botched contracts and that wasn't the end of it. Sam, run as dirt, manages to rescue Blake, Anders, Adam and Liam, but the damage has already been done: Adam is fed up with Blake's indiscretions and wants to avenge almost losing his life all because of his greed.
Meanwhile, Cristal cuts all tied with Blake as well, and Caleb too, and if that was a disaster, Fallon's surprise bachelorette party is some next-level catastrophe. Everybody gets so drunk they end up forgetting what actually happened at the party. Season 4 is expected to open to the aftermath of this party. On one hand there's Fallon expertly digging a way out of this party's consequences without embarrassing her family. On the other hand, Blake has to suffer the consequences of his financial deals and their impacts on his family. There's also always Adam's revenge to watch out for so expect a tornado of drama over Moldavia.

Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Sallie Patrick are the creators of this 2017 revisit of the 1981 ABC original that was created by Richard and Esther Shapiro and produced by Aaron Spelling.
