MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Drew Barrymore gave an insight into her grooming regime as she revealed that she finally shaved for the first time in the past three months. The ‘Drew Barrymore Show' star, 48, posted a hilarious video on her Instagram account on Monday, April 10, documenting how her Manhattan apartment's security alarm malfunctioned and interrupted what was supposed to be a relaxing bath and shaving session.

"You cannot make this stuff up. I was so excited," admitted Barrymore, wearing nothing but just a towel with shaving cream beneath her armpits. “I was finally shaving after three months but the house alarm is going off,” she said while shaking her head at the annoying ringing playing throughout the house. The video then switches to a calmer scene as the ‘Scream’ actress wraps the towel more tightly before announcing, "It is fixed."

'I did get to shave though'

The ‘Never Been Kissed” star then panned over to show her bathtub filled with what was now cold water. "Well, that bath is just over," she noted, adding, "I did get to shave though, under absolute stress and duress and panic." "But I, I got it done. So, the joke's on you house alarm," she quipped. Despite the hindrance, Barrymore remained positive in the caption and wrote, "You cannot make this stuff up! Just a moment that I will not let get the best of me… I'll laugh instead." The video left her fans delighted as they praised Barrymore for always being her true self, according to Daily Mail.

"Before I knew the issue I just thought u were wearing a cool different outfit but... that was just the shaving cream," wrote one follower. "It's always that moment you take for yourself and bang total chaos," a second user claimed while the third said, "Bless you woman. We love you so much! Thank you for being real, raw, and transparent. You are magical and we are grateful for you." The ‘Princess Power’ producer shares her luxurious apartment with four cats, two dogs, and a bearded dragon named Jeremy, as per People. At her apartment, she also enjoys visits from her two daughters Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8 — whom she shares with ex Will Kopleman.

‘Self-care and I are not friends’

Barrymore’s hilarious video came several weeks after she admitted that she did not consider shaving a form of self-care. "Self-care and I are not friends. My legs aren't shaven. I try to clip my nails down because I don't like dirt under them. I try to work out three times a week with girlfriends, and I usually make it two days a week, which is something," she said in an interview with Instyle.

"Three days a week is the goal. Sometimes, if I have time, I can do four days a week. It's just that there's no time," she claimed, adding, "Self-care for me is having my kids' stuff organized to get out the door in the morning, lined up. That's self-care. It doesn't seem like it, but it is because this fucking bubble bath approach is so irritating. That doesn't bring me self-care or joy. Having my kids' stuff in a system, lined up, their shoes and their jackets and their backpacks, that makes me feel like I won the morning."
