Drew Barrymore teases her next big romantic comedy project with '50 First Dates' co-star Adam Sandler
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As we know Adam Sandler conquered the comedy genre long back, but he is also popular for his romantic comedies some of which are cult favorites. Furthermore, his favorite rom-com co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore proved they are Adam Sandler‘s biggest fans. The two frequent co-stars of Adam stepped out for the 2023 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday (March 19, 2023) at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, D.C., where Adam was being honored. But that is not all, the longtime friends (Sandler and Barrymore) are now looking for their fourth project together as they kicked off their on-screen partnership with 'The Wedding Singer,' followed it up with 2004's '50 First Dates,' and most recently collaborated in 2014's 'Blended'. Barrymore and Sandler will make another movie together, it's now just a matter of finding the right story. On the other hand, Aniston and Sandler have starred in 'Just Go With It,' Netflix's 'Murder Mystery,' and the upcoming 'Murder Mystery 2'.

'We're actively seeking'
Barrymore recently spoke with ET Canada at the Mark Twain Honors and opened up about her on-screen future with Sandler. According to her, the two are "actively seeking" their next film together.
"We might have mentioned something about it this morning. We're actively seeking," Barrymore said. "I think it's important for us to hook into it. Maybe not be redundant of something we've done in the past, but not try to prove we're doing something different just to prove it. It's like an alchemy, you know? And it'll be a little of this, a little of that." "I will say this," she continued. "Adam and I seem to really know it when we know it. And we're like, 'This is it.'"
Barrymore's other classic rom coms
Barrymore probably doesn't get enough credit for being a rom-com queen. In addition to her movies with Sandler, her classic romance flicks also include 'Never Been Kissed,' 'Fever Pitch,' the Cinderella remix 'Ever After,' and the underrated musical treat 'Music & Lyrics.' She also appeared in the ensemble romance 'He's Just Not That Into You.' Barrymore has taken an indefinite hiatus from acting since her talk show premiered in 2020 (which is well-deserved since she started acting at 5 years old), but a Sandler-Barrymore rom-com would be the perfect way for her to come back into the game.
