‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’: Twisted Sister's Dee Snider says yes to Ukrainians' rock battle cry
Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider gave a thumbs up to Ukrainians for using “We Not Gonna Take It” as a rallying cry in their war against Russia on Saturday, February 26.
The rockstar tweeted, “I absolutely approve of Ukrainians using ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ as their battle cry. My grandfather was Ukrainian before it was swallowed up by the USSR after WW2. This can’t happen to these people again!” adding the hashtag “#F–KRUSSIA.”

The singer has been using hashtags “F–KRUSSIA” and “F–KPUTIN” to show his disregard for the Russian government. He recently reposted a picture where he can be spotted wearing a “Russia Sucks” badge from a time he remembered as the late 1970s.

“Holy Crap! I'm I actually wearing that pin in what looks like about 1978?! (My Ukrainian grandpa would have been so proud!)” Snider captioned the photo he posted on Sunday, 27 February.

Earlier, Snider had criticized Florida anti-mask protestors in the USA after they used his 1984 hit song terming it a “moronic cause”. He has always supported the use of vaccines and masks in the prevention against the virus throughout the pandemic. He even asked his unvaccinated fans to attend Ted Nugent or Kid Rock who didn’t support the vaccine instead of attending his gigs. He tweeted in support of Ukraine, “People are asking me why I endorsed the use of "We're Not Gonna Take It" for the Ukrainian people and did not for the anti-maskers. Well, one use is for a righteous battle against oppression; the other is a infantile feet stomping against an inconvenience.”

The rocker also said that his Transylvanian grandmother underwent the Soviet siege of the Carpathian Mountains in Romania years ago after people asked him to distinct his condemnation towards Russian supreme Vladimir Putin from Russian civilians.
Meanwhile, on social media, fans were quick to respond to Snider for blaming Russians for the invasion. In his defense, Dee wrote: “Understood (though they are claiming 60 percent of Russians support this invasion) but the Russian people (many who are already protesting) need to take responsibility for the piece of shit they have allowed to stay in power for 22 years.”
He added, “Unfortunately they are being fed a stream of propaganda by the Russian government telling them that the Ukraine is the aggressor.”
I've already spoken to this. The Russian people have allowed him to stay in power for 22 years. They all have culpability. https://t.co/3tO2beCQHk
