LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the climax of 'Death and Other Details', detective Rufus Cotesworth (Mandy Patinkin) is sidelined as Imogene Scott (Violett Beane) takes center stage, single-handedly unraveling the mystery and putting an end to the lingering curiosity.

Throughout the season, Victor Sams is a recurring, mysterious name. While it was widely suspected that he was responsible for the murders, his identity, whereabouts, and motives remained unknown.

However, in the gripping two-part finale, the enigmatic persona of Victor is finally revealed.

After decoding Keith Trubitsky's (Michael Gladis) diary, she uncovers a crucial clue pointing to the mastermind.

Analyzing a TikTok video recorded by That Derek (Sincere Wilbert), she identifies Agent Hilde Eriksen's (Linda Emond) presence on the ship a day before Keith's murder.

This revelation leads her to the startling realization that Hilde is none other than Victor Sams.

Delving into Hilde's motives, she deduces a personal agenda targeting Llewellyn Mathers (Jere Burns), Alexandra Hochenberg (Tamberla Perry), and Katherine Collier (Jayne Atkinson).

In an epic confrontation, Imogene addresses Hilde as "Mom." It means that Hilde isn't an Interpol agent. Instead, it unveils Hilde as Imogene's presumed dead mother, Kira Scott.

Kira uncovered the Collier family's involvement in illegal activities, particularly their use of Captionem Blue, a banned pigment, in their factory. This reckless practice resulted in the deaths of numerous workers and left many others chronically ill.

Undeterred by Lawrence Collier's (David Marshall Grant) threats, Kira diligently collected evidence and testimonies to build a case against the Colliers.

One fateful night, while on her way home, Kira was attacked by an assailant hired by the Colliers.

Despite narrowly escaping with her life, she realized that the danger would persist as long as the Colliers sought to silence her.

She faked her own death as she believed that this would be her only way out. She orchestrated it with the help of Andreas Windeler (Christian Svensson), who provided her with a new identity and facilitated her escape.

Kira strategically left some teeth in the car before causing it to explode, providing a false DNA trail. The following years, she lived in hiding, adopting various identities, altering her appearance, and even changing the color of her eyes.

During this time, Kira meticulously planned her revenge against the Colliers. When everything fell into place, she carried out the killings on the cruise.
