Daytime Emmys 2020: Alex Trebek is Best Game Show host for 'Jeopardy!', fans say he's the 'most-deserving' man
Alex Trebek fended off some stiff competition to win the Best Game Show Host for 'Jeopardy!' at the 47th Daytime Emmy Awards. Other nominees in the category included: Wayne Brady of 'Let's Make a Deal' (CBS), Steve Harvey of 'Family Feud' (Syndication), Alfonso Ribeiro of 'Catch 21' (Game Show Network), and Pat Sajak from 'Wheel of Fortune' (Syndication). The awards were hosted by Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Marie Osmond, the hosts of CBS's daytime talk show 'The Talk.
Talking about the award, Trebek said, "This is a shock. Speaking as one nominated 32 times and has won 7 times, I can say with some degree of authority that winning is nicer." This announcement comes after 'Jeopardy!' won the Best Game Show Award earlier in the evening.
Fans took to Twitter to congratulate the host on his win. "Congratulations, Alex!!! You deserve it!! " a fan tweeted. 'Jeopardy!' took to the social media platform to congratulate Trebek and thank the Daytime Emmys. "Jeopardy! won Outstanding Game Show, and Alex won Outstanding Game Show Host. We're honored! @DaytimeEmmys' the tweet read.
"Well deserved such a great host and show, love it!!!" a fan said. "Congratulations Alex Trebek and all the Jeopardy Crew," a fan wrote. "Congratulations on your two Emmy wins so far, and to Alex Trebek on winning Outstanding Game Show Host 2 years in a row!" a fan remarked. "Who has an outstanding award-winning game show? What’s the name of this outstanding award-winning game show host? Congratulations #alextrebek and #jeapardy" one of the fans wrote.

Thank you for the endless hours of challenging fun and cherished family memories!!!" a fan tweeted. "How can you not love Alex?" a fan asked. "No Actually we Thank you," a fan tweet read. "The award has gone to the most-deserving," a fan wrote.
The 47th Daytime Emmy Award is streaming live on CBS marking the first time the ceremony has aired on network television in years.
