Jean-Claude Van Damme is finally back and he is slaying it yet again in his action avatar in 'Darkness of Man'. The film will be released on VOD or Video on Demand on May 21, 2024, and it promises to be the archetypal action film you'd expect from the superstar. 

Directed by James Cullen Bressack, the film features Van Damme as an Interpol operative Russell Hatch who goes to extreme lengths to protect Jayden (Emerson Min), whom he is a father figure to. 

The film also features Kristanna Loken, Spencer Breslin, Sticky Fingaz, and Shannen Doherty in important roles and Saban Films acquired the distribution rights for the film in February 2023. 

Pascal Combes-Knoke serves as the cinematographer for the film and its music is composed by Tim Jones and James T Sale. 

What is the plot of 'Darkness of Man'?

'Darkness of Man' is about an Interpol operative named Russell Hatch who is a father figure to Jayden after Jayden's mother Esther (Chika Kanamoto), who was an informant is killed for sharing information. 

Jayden and his grandfather are caught in the crosshairs of a turf war in Los Angeles between the Russians and the Koreans and the now-retired Russell steps in again to protect Jayden. 

To do so, Russell must take out Lazar (Andrey Ivchenko), the head of the Russian gang to protect Jayden and his family but with surprises waiting for Russell, protecting Jayden will challenge Russell to his limit.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of the biggest action stars in the world. Born and raised in Brussels, Van Damme is a trained martial artist and traveled to the United States with the ambition of becoming an actor.

Van Damme's first appearance on the big screen was in 'Een vrouw tussen hond en wolf' (1979), in an uncredited role. Subsequently, he achieved fame with his action roles in films like 'Bloodsport' in 1988, 'Cyborg', 'Double Impact', 'Hard Target', 'Nowhere to Run', and 'Lionheart' among many others. 

After a few unsuccessful years, he rose to fame again with 'JCVD' in 2008 and 'The Expendables 2' in 2012 where he played the role of a villain.
