'Daredevil': Revisiting iconic first fight scene on show's fifth year anniversary
Five years ago, on this day, Marvel's 'Daredevil' hit Netflix. Bloody, dark and downright gripping, the series followed Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime as a masked vigilante by night. It was an entirely different piece of content that Marvel fans were introduced to and a rather unforgettable one at that. It was mighty unfortunate the show was canceled after three seasons despite being positively received by critics and fans.
Rotten Tomatoes showed a 99% approval rating for the first season. The website's critical consensus reads, "With tight adherence to its source material's history, high production quality, and a no-nonsense dramatic flair, Daredevil excels as an effective superhero origin story, a gritty procedural, and an exciting action-adventure."
'Daredevil' fans still remember the first hallway fight scene. A trademark sequence that saw some intense, raw violence with some ominous music to boot. "Where did those 5 years go already?" tweeted a fan. "Daredevil blew my mind when it first came out! This show was brimming with so much potential..." said another.
One of the fans expressed sadness over the show's cancellation: "Honestly all three seasons I thought were great. Season one was the best but it was easily the best of the Marvel shows. I wish they didn’t cancel it."
