USA Network’s most recent mystery-thriller series ‘Dare Me’, taking a detour from its usual schedule, premiered its second episode only two days after the season premiere on demand. Titled ‘Mutually Assured Destruction’, episode 2 was packed with drama, dwelling deep on the emotions of the characters, setting it apart from the usual teenage drama we have witnessed on television.

Ever since it was first announced that Megan Abbott’s novel was being made into series, people wondered how well the creators would be able to portray the nuances of the powerful characters on-screen. However, the series seems to have quelled the ever-growing apprehension by introducing us to a few intriguing characters, who have already got the viewers interested in them.

Episode 2 sees trouble ensue in Beth and Addy’s relationship, as the latter has begun to seek comfort in Colette’s arms. Although Addy’s growing proximity with Colette is highly bothering Beth, she remains composed while working her own plans. Only two episodes in, and it looks like Beth has already become a fan favorite as they can’t stop raving about her misadventures. While some like her for being ‘bitchy’, the others are simply taken aback by her unpredictability. Fans love Beth because she gives the show a character that makes it edgy. Even Coach Colette's role in the show is hinging around her.

One of ‘Dare Me’ fans wrote on Twitter, “Obsessed with the new series #DareMe    Can’t get enough of it!!!! LOVE BETH Cassidy!!!!!!” and “I have to say that I like Addy so far Beth is crazy #dareme,” added another. Meanwhile, the others are praising the show and how they want to help it garner more views by rewatching it on the cable network. “Even if you watched ep 2 you better still watch it live to give it more views!! #dareme #GoldenGIobes,” a tweet read.

With each episode, the series is skillfully navigating the lives of the characters, making us crave for more. While there is plenty of room for uncertainties and mind-blogging possibilities, we can’t overlook the fact that the captivating persona of the characters is one of the factors that makes the series worth binge-watching.
