Skai Jackson and Alan Bersten tried to get back on their feet after the previous performance landed them all 5s by the judges. The latest episode (September 28) saw the cast members bringing the Disney theme back on the stage. For this, Skai decided to go with Princess Tiana, the only Black princess on the Disney channel.

She thought that character suited her the best and was excited to bring the performance on stage. For their dance, the pair chose 'I'm almost there' and paired it up with jive. After having a disappointing score last week, Skai was quick to lift herself up. She admitted things went wrong and added that she was ready to get the groove back on the floor. As the performance begins, Skai made sure she did not make the same mistakes again like she did last time. However, despite making sure she did not miss any steps or had slip-ups, the judges were not very impressed with her performance.

They were glad to see her back in the game but did not think her performance had the same magic as it did on week 1. Derek Hough was quick to comment on Skai and stated she looked like a real princess. However, when it came to the performance, he added that it lacked the grace one should have as she looked stiff. He advised her to pay attention to her body posture and be more relaxed. Bruno Tonioli also gave mixed reactions as he told Skai she could do better. Even though he liked her performance there were some things that he thought could have improved in the dance. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba thought Skai looked nervous.

While she liked the performance, Inaba thought Skai's performance was affected since the nervousness was showing. The judges ended up giving her 6, making her total score 18. Hearing this, fans were not happy as many thought judges her being especially harsh on Skai.

"The judging is so harsh, I thought Skai did amazing," read one comment. "EXCUSE ME WHAT WAS THAT SCORE. Skai deserved all 8’s at least," read another comment. "I swear to god if Derek does not tell every dance tonight about their stiffness I’m getting this show cancel because I’m tired of them giving others passes on things that they should dock points for but giving Skai harsher criticism," wrote another.

"They hate every week on poor lil Skai," said another. "I don’t like the fact how judges are giving Skai Jackson low Score every week Period. She Deserves better score Period," said another.
