With two episodes under its belt, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 29 returned with Episode 3 which was Disney-themed. The contestants and their partners danced to some of Disney's classics as they took to the stage to light up the magical night.

Former American football player Vernon Davis seemed quite excited about performing to a song from Disney's ‘Beauty and the Beast’ until he learned from his dancing partner Peta that he’ll get to be the candlestick from the movie and not the beast. Prior to his performance, an emotional Davis spoke about the struggles of finding a balance between his career and personal life. He also expressed that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

However, Davis did not let his personal issues come in the way of his performance as he managed to pull off quite a decent act on the stage with their quickstep dance. Clad in yellow and grooving to the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ song, Davis-Peta delivered an impressive performance. The judges were all praise for the couple as they concluded their act. While Derek Hough couldn’t help but express with excitement that he loved Davis and Peta’s act, Bruno Tonioli had a similar opinion to offer as he raved about the footballer’s “light moves”. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba said that the dancing couple is starting to find a “balance” as they matched their steps in the latest performance like never before. Thoroughly impressed by the act, the judges gave Davis and Peta a score of 22.

Although a significant number of fans have noted that they enjoyed watching Davis’s candlestick’ act, some just couldn’t stop drawing comparisons between his dance and some of his football matches. And a few, on a light-hearted note, joked about him turning into a candlestick for the Disney night performance.

One fan tweeted, "Watching Vernon Davis is basically watching football". While another added, "Vernon Davis & Peta dancing to Be Our Guest just made me EMOTIONAL"

Meanwhile, the rest congratulated him on acing the latest performance. One wrote, "Ironic how Vernon Davis was the candlestick because as a former Niner, they used to PLAY at Candlestick Stadium!  #dwts #NFL ". Another tweeted, "Vernon Davis just made 2020 look like sunshine #vernondavis #DWTS YES YES YES!"
