'Dancing With The Stars' (DWTS) season 28: Sean Spicer survives debut performance, but fans are not able to get over his political views

Debuting this season, Former White House press secretary, Sean Spicer along with his pro partner Lindsay Arnold graced the DWTS stage with their salsa routine and not everybody liked it.

It's almost a week since 'Dancing With The Stars' season 28 premiered and looks like fans are still not over the fact that the series cast Sean Spicer as one of the contestants this season.

Debuting this season, former White House press secretary, Sean Spicer along with his pro partner Lindsay Arnold graced the DWTS stage with their salsa routine set to the tune of Spice Girls' 'Spice Up Your Life'. While Spicer's outfit broke the internet and sent everyone into fits of laughter with memes and jokes, fans are still not in favor of him appearing in the competition.

But it looks like Spicer brought this upon himself when he oh so proudly spoke about the tweet Donald Trump congratulating him on his appearance on DWTS.  Trump had tweeted, "Just heard that Sean Spicer will be on 'Dancing with the Stars.' He will do great. A terrific person who loves our Country dearly!"

Though it's been a week since he debuted, and is all set to return on Monday night for their next performance, fans reveal they aren't looking forward to it. While the reality Tv competition series has no connection with politics, a few of fans of the show are still not over Spicer's political views and doings when he was still the White House press secretary.

"@seanspicer You're a shitty person. If you had any shame you'd spend the rest of your life with your head down, not on #DWTS or the Emmys or anywhere public. You enabled the most dishonest president of modern times. Seriously, fuck you," wrote a fan on Twitter. Adding to that another fan said, "#DWTS please continue dressing #seanspicer like the giant turd he is! That’s the only way it’s acceptable for him to be on tv."

While most fans aren't over his political views and doings, a few fans are just looking at it as a competition, and not his past. "A job is a job" and there's nothing shameful about hustling your way through life. @seanspicer working his ass off on #DWTS and giving it his all has reinforced that philosophy to me. He's out there having fun, hustling hard and giving viewers a bang for their buck. Respect," said a fan.

Lindsay Arnold and Sean Spicer attend the "Dancing With The Stars" Season 28 show at CBS Television City on September 16, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Adding to that another fan said, "I am over the hate for Sean Spicer. This show has zero to do with politics. They made him look like a fool in that costume, he gracefully accepted the criticisms, (didn't curse on a live show that children watch) and he was positive and pleasant with EVERYONE. #quithating."

Spicer and his partner received one of the lowest scores last week, and unless he improves, they have a high chance of getting eliminated.

'Dancing With The Stars' season 28 airs every Monday night on ABC. Check your local listings for more information.
