Figure skater Johnny Weir has come a long way in the ABC’s dancing reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 29. In the previous episode, he headlined the show by receiving the first two 10s of the current season by dancing to contemporary music. In the latest (October 19) episode, Johnny and his pro-dancing partner Britt Stewart took to the stage to perform to the salsa to Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull’s hit song ‘On the Floor’. Prior to his performance, Johnny introduced his best lady friends, who he dedicated his latest performance to. He also said that his routine reminded him of his time with his besties.

Although the energy and enthusiasm were in abundance between Johnny and Britt, they didn’t quite deliver the same on the stage, at least according to the judges. Derek Hough noted that Johnny and Britt’s performance was entertaining and couldn’t stop raving about the skater’s costume, which he said would have definitely caught JLo’s attention. But the judge said that the expectations from Johnny were high following his performance last week, which he somehow couldn’t keep up with.

Meanwhile. Bruno Tonioli said that the couple delivered a powerful performance but didn’t get the “style quite right”.  He further added that “salsa needs to have more grounded action”. Meanwhile, Carrie Ann Inaba expressed that it wasn’t Johnny’s best performance. Johnny and Britt received a total of 22. So far, one of the least scores on the latest episode.

Johnny’s performance has garnered mixed reactions on social media, where some fans have noted that he deserved a better score and others noticed that he’s come under the radar of the judges once again. One fan tweeted, "Johnny Weir is getting screwed again by the judges on #DWTS!" Another noted, "#DWTS @DancingABC celebs Nelly & Johnny Weir complain show's judges are "too harsh" & "whack" #DancingwiththeStars #DWTS."

Meanwhile, some have expressed that Johnny and Britt were underscored. One tweeted, "How did Johnny only get a 7 for his amazing salsa, and Nev gets a 9 for that sad white bred off beat crap?#DWTS " while another added, "#DWTS Woah, I totally feel like Johnny Weir deserved a higher score on that performance."
