North Carolina rapper DaBaby has announced on April 15 that he will be releasing a new album 'Blame it on Baby'. In an infomercial-inspired video, '1-800-Blame-it-On-Baby', the rapper used to promote the new album, we hear elevator-esque music play in the background as several people give their accounts of their current problems and why they choose to blame it on DaBaby.

We hear narration open the two-minute clip with "Have you been in any type of accident at any point in your life and suffered physical or emotional injuries of any kind?" adding, "If so, you can blame it on Baby."

The promo video shows people listing their troublesome situations including a man who is broke after making six figures a year and is now without his wife, kids and house; a teenager who said those who shot him in a driveby were listening to DaBaby; a kid who said his "momma whooped" his "a**" because he was listening to DaBaby; a girl who blames the 28-year-old rapper for her boyfriend breaking up with her; two children who said their parents got divorced because of DaBaby and several other people sharing the reason why DaBaby caused them emotional distress.

The informercial claims, "Blame it on Baby, and you can get out of any situation in life," before revealing the LP release date with, "Starting this Friday, when his new album drops, stop stressing and blame it on Baby." His new release comes seven months after his last album, Kirk and just 13 after his debut album, Baby on Baby.

It also serves as a reminder to the fact that the rapper hasn't been in fans' good books of late after he had to apologize to a fan in March when a video showing him hitting a female fan in the face before an after-party concert in Tampa, Florida surfaced.

The rapper revealed on his Instagram earlier, the line-up of special guest appearances on the upcoming studio album from the likes of Future, Roddy Rich, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion, NBA Youngboy, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Ashanti.

DaBaby also teased the news on Twitter posting a pic of the album cover which shows him wearing camouflage gear with a face mask in tune with the social distancing mandate amid the coronavirus crisis. Fans were quick with their reactions albeit they were very mixed. One fan commented on the timely cover saying, "Bruh this cover kills (sic)" while another comment goes, "Worst album cover of the year." One fan agreed to the timing of the album release date with "Just what we need during quarantine," while another fan said, "Shit we ain't doing nothing else lol."

There were many "let's go" responses amongst the positive comments and one fan said they "can't wait". One fan said, "Yessssss!!! Thank you because I needed some shit with some BOP in it (sic)."

Several fans criticized the announcement. "Whole album about to sound like one long track!" wrote a fan while another said, "Lets get ready to hear the same song like 10 times." One was was mixed about their feelings on the new album, saying, "Please let this be straight heat, cuz these other rappers been lazy (sic)."

One fan on YouTube reacted to the new promo video with "DaBaby damn smart for making people promote his project like this."
