'Cultural reset': Fans rejoice as ‘The Last of Us’ finale beats ‘House of the Dragon’s viewership records
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As we know, Matt Smith's starrer 'House of the Dragon' was one of the biggest shows in 2022, starting from its viewership records to its storyline, everybody was in awe of it. The plot twist was that the fantasy drama series had a fair competitor at the time of its release as Prime dropped 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,' but the HBO series did remarkably well. In fact, the Ryan Condal-created show won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama.
Regardless, HBO managed to boggle everyone's mind again in 2023 when they released the Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey starring post-apocalyptic series, 'The Last of Us'. The series' Season 1 aired on January 15, 2023, and seeing its unbelievable viewership records, the channel was quick to renew it for a second season. Furthermore, the post-apocalyptic series finale was on March 13, 2022, when the world was also busy watching the 95th Academy Awards. However, loyal fans helped the 2023's highly anticipated tv series to tear down the viewership records of the 'Game of Thrones' sequel series.

Both shows deserve the love they get." A fan shared, "I'm seeing all these takes about how HotD was superior, but let's be clear: TLOU didn't need dragons or foot fetishes to become a cultural reset."
