Netflix's 'Country Ever After': Release date, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Coffey-Criscilla Anderson reality series
In this latest reality series by Netflix, 'Country Ever After' (previously known as 'Country-ish'), follows the journey of country artist Coffey Anderson and his wife, hip-hop dancer Criscilla Anderson, juggling family, career goals and tests of faith across a season of life challenges, big moments and health struggles. The first season looks packed full of big drama and heartfelt stories, and we're already wondering if a second season is in the works.
Although reality and documentary-style shows like this are typically cheaper to produce than scripted series, they also have different hurdles to clear in terms of production. Real life drives the "plot", so if the stars — in this case, the Anderson family — either don't have anything new to share or would prefer to not share some portions of their life on screen, it could be a while before the show resumes.
Release date
Season 1 of 'Country Ever After' is coming on Netflix on November 6.
Plot
A major part of the show documents Criscilla's battle with stage 4 colon cancer. The series will document the upheavals the couple will brave along with their three children. It's really still too early to tell whether or not the reality series will return for a second season, especially because the first season was originally scheduled to premiere on September 25, but has been delayed until November 6.
Typically, it takes at least a couple of months after a show releases for Netflix to make a public decision about renewal, especially for shows in their first seasons, so fans of 'Country Ever After' probably won't hear anything until around the end of the year, at least. Health and safety precautions would presumably need to be at a much higher level to film another season.
Cast
Opposites attract and that’s the case with this couple as both artistes deal with very different forms of art — country vs urban. Coffey Anderson (born 1978) is a country singer-songwriter and internet personality, originally from Bangs, Texas. Wife Criscilla Anderson is a hip hop dancer, choreographer and YouTuber. She has performed in several music videos with veterans like Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and Rihanna.
The mom of three was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. After a brief remission, Criscilla reported a stage 4 metastatic colon cancer diagnosis in November 2019.
Trailer
In the trailer we see the husband and wife duo living the time of their life, with their beautiful family and going through the hurdles face up. We see the dynamic relationship of the couple, a glimpse of their professional life and their three precious children. Coffey telling Criscilla that she would never be able to get rid of him is the kind of romance we need more of.
