'Counting On' star Joy-Anna Duggar celebrates her 21st birthday in the most family-approved style
Joy-Anna (Duggar) Forsyth finally turned 21, and the reality star celebrated her birthday in true 'Counting On' fashion: no red solo cups allowed, as per reports. She celebrated her big day with family and friends over the weekend, and her sister Jill (Duggar) Dillard even shared a picture of the birthday celebrations on Instagram.
“Happy birthday to my Joy Joy buddy! LOVE you and so happy we got to celebrate together the other day! Hope your day is splendid,” Dillard captioned the photo, showing herself and Forsyth standing in front of balloons reading “Happy Birthday” and “21.”
Seeing that the reality TV star celebrated the milestone birthday without any alcohol, which was according to the Duggar family’s faith and strict rules, a lot of fans took to the post to comment about the absurdity of the whole thing. “Why do I not see any alcohol to celebrate a 21st?!” one person questioned.
“Looks like the lamest 21st birthday,” another wrote. “@ least make a virgin drink for the experience...somewhat,” one person suggested.
What the Duggars lacked in drinks at the party, they somehow made up for it by having a feast made out of fall food to celebrate the day, which ranged all the way from sandwiches, pumpkin bread, to fresh spring rolls. Joy-Anna, who was treated to cheers of “happy birthday” from those at the party and fans on social media, also got a wish from the Duggar family's official Facebook account.
“Happy 21st birthday to our sweet Joy Joy! You truly are a joy and blessing to us all! We have loved watching you grow up over the years and have now become a loving, caring wife and mother! We love you so much and hope you have a great day!" the post read.
Joy-Anna's birthday comes on the heels of another blessing that she received recently along with her husband Austin Forsyth, i.e. the birth of their first child, son Gideon, which took place in February this year. The couple, who had announced in August 2017 that they were expecting, documented the birth of baby Gideon for the TLC series.
Fans who witnessed the birth and footage of what happened before were shown the difficult labor and birth via C-section of the toddler. “When the midwife came and told us that the baby was breech and that we had to go to the hospital, I was kind of discouraged because she had labored for so long and we were really hoping that we could just have a home birth,” Austin said in his interview. “But at the same time, I was ready to have this baby. Joy was tired and I’m just: ‘Let’s just do whatever it takes to get the baby here.’”
