Comic-Con 2020: Michelle Yeoh says expect 'pissed off' Georgiou in 'Star Trek: Discovery' Season 3, fans love it
Comic-Con 2020 is taking place this very moment and fans are glued to the screens and waiting for the news on their favorite shows. At the 'Star Trek Panel', we got to see the heroes of 'Star Trek: Discovery', and after an enthusiastic table read, the stars answered some crucial questions about Season 3 of the show.
Season 2 of the show had ended on an explosive note as in order to save the universe from an apocalyptic AI, Discovery was sent far into the future. Now that the ship and the crew are in the 32nd century, the story can go in numerous directions with this unchartered territory. Does the Federation still exist? Who is the new Captain of Discovery now?
During the panel discussion, fans were sorrowful that they didn't get a concrete release date for the show or a more informative trailer, but they got some interesting bits of information and at least have a hint of what to expect in the next season. While it was expected that the show was meant to release in April, it had to be delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic. During an Instagram Live, Wilson Cruz – who plays Dr Hugh Culber had said: "They’re currently editing and doing visual effects for Season 3, but it’s shifting to work from home so it’ll be slower than usual. No word yet as to how long that will take or when it will be released..." However, during the 'Star Trek: Panel', they confirmed that they are working hard on the show.
Michelle Yeoh who plays Georgiou in the show said that her character would be 'more pissed off' in Season 3. "Power. She doesn’t even seek it. Georgiou just has it," she said. Fans can't wait to see this new side of her. "Oh oh! Georgiou is going to be really pissed in #StarTrek Discovery Season 3! Can't wait! #StarTrekDiscovery," one fan wrote.
"Michelle Yeoh is asked where Georgiou is emotionally at the beginning of season three. Here answer, "She's really pissed off," a fan wrote, sharing several emoticons.
"I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT GEORGIOU HAS IN STORE! ALSO... THE FASHION! THE FASHION OF GEORGIOU!!!" another tweeted.
Season 3 will see a blend of family and family too. ".@albinokid says Season 3 blends the personal/family of the show. It explores family in wonderful new ways. #StarTrekDiscovery@StarTrekNetflix#ComicConatHome," one summarised what composer Anthony Rapp said.
Meanwhile, fans are rather annoyed that there wasn't a trailer, teaser or release date for the show. "Interesting they didn’t give a launch date for #StarTrekDiscovery Season 3 during the @Comic_Con panel," a fan mused.
"#StarTrekDiscovery is coming in 2020, but there still isn't an exact date. Why does CBS want to continue torturing me?" another wrote.
