'Come Dance With Me': A tearful exit for Lucas and Carolina, the mom-son duo from Puerto Rico

The mother-son duo fails to make a solid comeback after last week's performance on 'Come Dance With Me'

After the two pairs wound up at the bottom of the second episode of 'Come Dance With Me,' which premiered last week, Lucas and Carolina were unable to defeat Connor and Nadya in the "show out". This follows their disappointing performance the week before.

'Come Dance With Me' has young dancers partnering up with an inspirational adult "for a chance to strut their stuff for a grand prize." Each week, the two teams with the lowest scores are eliminated and must compete in a "show out", which pits parent against parent and child against a child. The judges then decide which team should be saved and which should be sent home. For some, the theme of the most recent episode, "pop night," was as smooth as butter, but for others, it was as arduous as a blazing sunny day. Lucas and Carolina, a mother-son duo, and Connor and Nadya, a son-daughter duo, both failed to make an impression on the episode. Despite the fact that both teams gave their all, one fell short of impressing the judges.

The gifted young dancers and their unskilled parents resume the once-in-a-lifetime challenge, dancing to iconic songs by Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Demi Lovato, and other pop musicians. Talented young dancers compete against their inexperienced parents in this show. Philip Lawrence, a Grammy Award-winning songwriter, presents the series, which contains music from well-known musicians in a variety of genres.

The elimination round got the better of Lucas, 13, and Carolina, a retired educator from La Mirada, California. Despite Lucas' earnest effort, the squad as a whole failed to make an impression in both their real performance and the "show out". Following their performances, both teams received a total of 17.5 points out of a potential 30. Dewan, who is constantly handing out technical advice, didn't think the mother-son combination was on the same page with their performance. Dexter had hoped for a bit more vigor from both, but Miranda was pleased with their development over their previous performance, which was also below average.

Fans on social media were not at all happy to see the mother and son leave after. Some even took it to Twitter, saying, "Gosh, I hate that anyone has to go home. Every parent/child team is so special. #ComeDanceWithMe "

However, there were people who didn't mind what the judges had to say. They had their own opinion on not only their performance but also their music and costume choice. A fan wrote, "Lucas & Catalina love it.. The colors and music great! Don't cheat them again #ComeDanceWith Me"

Guess what! They weren't exactly cheated, just didn't have luck on their side for tonight's performance. Although their journey on the show was short-lived, fans believe Lucas has a wonderful career ahead of him. A fan didn't hold back and tweeted, "Lucas has a career in dancing love you both Lucas and Catalina.. You are so right Momma Lucas is a STAR #ComeDanceWithMe "

‘Come Dance with Me’ returns to CBS with a new episode every Friday at 8 pm EST.
