TRICITY, POLAND: 'Colors of Evil: Red' aka 'Kolory zla. Czerwien' is a Polish psychological thriller streaming on Netflix on May 29, 2024. The film follows the journey of a passionate detective Leopold Bilski (Jakub Gierszal) who goes on a desperate pursuit to find the killer of a girl named Monika Bogucka whose body is found mutilated on a beach. 

Monika who is the daughter of Judge Helena Bogucka (Maja Ostaszewska) dies after working at a seaside club that is related to another murder where the body parts were mutilated 15 years ago. The police arrested Adrian Jakubiak who recently got out on parole and when the police reached his house, they found Monika's t-shirt in his possession. Jakubiak denies his involvement and kills himself. 

Meanwhile, Helena finds a flash drive and discovers her husband Roman's involvement with the owner of the seaside club Lukasz Kazarski, who has a record of being involved in illegal businesses. Bilski and Helena do not believe that Jakubiak is behind the murder of Monika. So who killed Monika? Who was behind the murder 15 years ago? Here we explain the end of 'Colors of Evil: Red'.

Roman provides proof against Kazarski

When Helena confronts Roman about the flash drive, he comes clean and tells Helena about his involvement with Kazarski and how he created shell companies to front his illegal businesses. 

Roman admits to doing so because Kazarski had naked pictures of their daughter Monika and she wanted to get out of the mess she found herself in. 

The police raid Kazarski's house and find a torture room in the basement however no biological evidence is found at the Kazarski's place. All this while, he was being helped by a policeman named Spider. 

Kazarski denies killing Monika

As Bilski tries to look for evidence against Kazarski, he discovers a bracelet made out of the lips of all the victims he has tortured. He is arrested but denies his involvement in the murder of Monika. 

Helena and Bilski consider the case closed and head their separate ways. Helena has an affair with forensic expert Dubiela and goes on a vacation with him. When they reach the place, they discover Dubiela's son Mario already there.

Meanwhile, Bilski recalls that Mario had Monika's ring when he visited Dubiela and rushed to help Helena. 

Mario is revealed to be Helena's killer

Mario exposes the real killer by leaving Monika's ring on his table. Dubiela reveals to Helena that Mario who was friends with Monika had brought her into the farmhouse and raped and killed her. 

Dubiela, desperate to save his son mutilated her body knowing that Jacubiak was out on parole and would be suspected of the murder. Helena and Bilski arrest them and the movie ends with Mario volunteering to report the murder.
