With K-pop taking over the globe, it is no surprise that more and more industries and brands want to rope in popular idols to tap into the K-pop industry. And one of the most awaited events in USA is doing the same. Coachella, which takes place in Indo Valley in California is not just a music festival anymore. It has become the hub where celebrities of all fields gather and party while creating new fashions and beauty trends while sporting their best festival outfits.

After girl group Blackpink made their debut at Coachella 2019, 2020 was set to be equally star-studded as we were supposed to get their former and current labelmates – Epik High, BIGBANG and CL which unfortunately got canceled due to the worldwide lockdown. But 2022 is more than making up for it. Epik High is now the first Korean act to be invited thrice and the first to perform not once but twice by attending Coachella 2022. And with just hours left to Day 1, there is a teaser released which could very well mean ex-2NE1 star CL and GOT7’s Jackson Wang are also performing.

CL and Jackson to perform at Coachella 2022?

On April 14, Asian-American record label 88rising announced their participation at Coachella 2022. They will have their own set up at the music festival with an ensemble cast of their artists set to perform. In the video teaser, we see the eye of all of the 88rising artists roped in for the festival. Out of them, many believed that two of them happens to be CL and Jackson Wang. GOT7 fans already knew something was afoot when Jackson had panicked when asked about Coachella in an interview on the same day. He has now confirmed his attendance by reposting the video on Instagram.

As for CL fans, they are sure she will also be present since one of the eyes is wearing heavy glittering green eye makeup with her signature winged eyeliner. Furthermore, her backup dancer has pretty much confirmed CL’s appearance by sharing Coachella’s Saturday schedule on Instagram. This makes Jackson the first male K-pop idol and CL the second female K-pop idol to perform solo at Coachella. The 88rising artists are set to perform this Saturday, April 16 at 6:45 pm PST at the main Coachella stage. It will also be live-streamed on Coachella's YouTube for international fans.

Update: CL and Jackson's appearances are confirmed. We also have K-pop artist BIBI in the lineup.
