With the end in sight to the Chris Williams and Paige Banks drama, every new episode of 'Married at First Sight' seems like a mockery of Banks on TV.
From the way Williams and his family treated her to the number of lies she's been fed, it's heartbreaking to watch Banks struggle to hold together what can only be seen as a dying union — one that she should have walked away from the day after her wedding itself.
However, with a $100k fine looming over her if she quit the show, she didn't have much of an option but to let the chaos unfold. And it only got worse.

Banks was very clear about what she wanted from her husband and their marriage. A loving, god-fearing man who wanted to start a future together and have children, while working as a team. Instead, she ended up with Williams, who in his own famous words, "on paper", seemed perfect.
He has a very religiously inclined family, was a self-made, well-to-do man and they both individually joked about honeymoon babies. However, right off the bat, Williams was nothing but disrespectful to her and the issue only went from bad to worse.
On their wedding day, Williams made it plenty clear that Banks was not his kind of woman
Right off the bat, during his confessionals on the day of their wedding, Williams repeatedly mentioned that Banks was not the kind of woman he'd normally date. While he did comment on her assets, he repeatedly implied that she wasn't quite his type and even mentioned it to her friends, who seemed rather turned off by his implications. He even went as far as to ask her about her virginity just hours into meeting her at their wedding reception no less.
He told her he wasn't attracted to her AFTER they consummated their marriage
Out of all the couples, Banks and Williams surprisingly were the first ones to consummate their marriage, on the night of their wedding day. Banks was in for a very rude awakening the next morning, as she woke up to Williams claiming that he was not physically attracted to her. What made matters worse is the fact that they not only slept together the previous night but that morning as well, adding more insult to injury.
While the other couples enjoyed their first breakfast together as husband and wife, Williams went missing without telling Banks a word or answering her calls. He returned to her only to have a panic attack over their situation, while she was expected to comfort him, all while listening to him talk about how he isn't attracted to her.
His family was extremely disrespectful towards Banks
In the family meetings where the spouses had lunch with their partners' parents and relatives, when Banks was asked about her connection with her husband, she was honest and told his family that even though they slept together, he claimed he wasn't attracted to her. Williams' mother was quick to imply that maybe there was just too much alcohol involved and tried to brush the matter off, invalidating Banks' feelings.
When Williams found out Banks had spoken about their sex life to his parents, he was livid about it and although they didn't have an explosive argument, they definitely disagreed with each other.
He breaks the news to her about his pregnant ex-fiancée
Watching the couple on their honeymoon was not easy, at the start they both looked intensely unhappy. It only went downhill when Williams broke the news of his pregnant ex-fiancée and proceeded to get upset yet again, because of all the happy couples around him, save for himself.
He said she should consider being stepmother to his child
At some point, Williams and Banks seemed to have nearly worked things out. He even told her that if she decided to leave, he'd understand and that he'd support her decision, however, if she did, he might just chase after her, seeing that he was now "spiritually attracted to her". This was quick to sway Banks around and want to give their relationship a chance.
He abandoned Banks on their honeymoon and flew off to Chicago
All of Banks' hopes of a new relationship ended as soon as they started — on the last day of their honeymoon, after some pillow talk, Williams suddenly revealed that he might just still be in love with his ex. Banks seemed to have had enough with his hot and cold persona but stuck though nonetheless.
Until he left her for Chicago. While all the couple set up their new apartments and visited their old ones while getting to know each other, Banks was left all alone in her home. Matters only got worse when Williams returned from Chicago — he revealed that he'd spoken to a divorce attorney already.
Banks says they slept together multiple times during honeymoon without protection
During her solo meeting with Pastor Cal, Banks mentioned that she and Williams slept together nearly every single night — she saw it as her duty of sorts as a wife and hoped that it would help improve their situation. What made matters worse is, they did so without protection.
Luckily, Banks was not pregnant. When Williams surprisingly arrived for the session, he made it clear that he picked his ex or Banks. In a shocking admission, Pastor Cal agreed that maybe it was for the best. "I'd fight tooth and nail for a marriage, but not this one," he said, before leaving the pair.
Williams confesses to Banks that he might have feelings for her... AGAIN
As soon as Pastor Cal walked out that door, Williams was quick to whisper to Banks that he's afraid of falling in love with Banks, who seemed deterred by this admission. The fate of this couple remains unknown and now seeing that there might be a final confrontation between Banks, Williams and his ex-fiancée Mercedes Myrick, who knows what drama lies ahead.
Williams seems to be bringing up Banks long after the show is over
Reddit recently found out that Williams was in Cancun with his ex-fiancée, Mercedes Myrick, in February 2021. While there is a debate around if she is pregnant or not or possibly miscarried, it turns out Williams was talking to fans about Banks, even after the season is long over.
User u/Mofoluwashayomi who posted the image confirmed the conversation that happened between the fans and the 'MAFS' star. Looks like Banks can't seem to catch a break, regardless of whether she is with Williams or not.
