No one has to defend ‘The Terminal List’ now. Chris Pratt’s new Navy thriller is shutting down trolls and critics alike by securing the second position on the list of America's most-streamed shows.

Helmed by Antoine Fuqua, 'The Terminal List', which features Pratt a US Navy seal, managed to garner a whopping 1.6 billion minutes of streaming on Amazon Prime during the July 4-10 window. While the thrilling show got a big thumbs up from the fans, critics have turned their noses up at the Navy drama.

Chris Pratt’s ‘Terminal List’ slammed as ‘right-wing revenge fantasy’, fans call it ‘superb watch’

In his review of 'The Terminal List', The Hollywood Reporter’s chief television critic Daniel Fienberg employed a holiday-cookout analogy, writing, “It’s the entertainment equivalent of a charred hockey puck, with the same limited range of flavor and aesthetics.” The scathing review also lamented wasted opportunities of "ripped-from-the-headlines resonance related to military PTSD and the administrative systems failing our men and women."

In start contrast, audience have called it phenomenal and exciting. One viewer noted, 'Critics as usual got this one wrong.' On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a poor rating of 40/100 from critics, but a startling 94/100 from viewers.

Jack Carr, a former Navy seal and the author of the novel that became the plot of Chris Patt’s drama, claimed that critics were triggered by the show. Carr, whose novel was published back in 2018, appeared on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' on Friday and said, “It falls right in line with everything that I understand about the current culture and climate in America right now." He added, “It seems to have triggered quite a few of these critics.”

He continued, “The 95 percent viewer rating, audience rating, makes it all worth it. We didn’t make it for the critics. We made it for those in the arena. We made it for the soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine that went downrange to Iraq and Afghanistan, so they could sit on the couch and say, ‘Hey, these guys put in the work. They put in the effort to make something special and make a show that speaks to them.’ And that 95 percent rating lets me know that we at least got close.”

The former Navy seal, who is also the executive producer of the series alongside Pratt, revealed that one critic asked what to even call a show like 'Terminal List'. This led the author to quip, “You call that the No. 1 series on Prime Video.”

'The Terminal List' follows the life story of James Reece, a Navy Seal Operator, who sets himself on a grueling mission to uncover the truth after his entire platoon of 12 is killed in a catastrophic ambush. Broken after the painful incident, the actor suffers from headaches, paranoia, and memory confusion. Apart from Pratt, the show also casts Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, and Riley Keough in pivotal roles.
