Imagine being a real temp in a fake corporate takeover. That's pretty much the storyline for 'Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat', the highly anticipated follow-up to Prime Video's 'Jury Duty'. The new season features a fresh cast of colleagues as they head to the annual company retreat at Rockin’ Grandma’s. Joining them is a new temp worker, Anthony. The trailer was dropped on Thursday, and the new season premieres on March 20 on Prime Video with three episodes. It follows with two more episodes on March 27, and a three-episode finale on April 3.

Anthony's heart and soul, safe to say, are with the company. "If they think they can just come in and do whatever they feel like they wanna do, they’re in for a rude awakening," he says in the trailer when the potential buyers of the hot sauce company make their introductions. "I care about y’all. This is a family." And that sets the tone for what to expect in the second instalment of the hoax.

The ensemble cast includes Alex Bonifer, Blair Beeken, Emily Pendergast, Erica Hernandez, Jerry Hauck, Jim A. Woods, LaNisa Renee Frederick, Marc-Sully Saint-Fleur, Rachel Kaly, Rob Lathan, Ryan Perez, Stephanie Hodge, Warren Burke, and Wendy Braun.

Per MGM's press release, the logline reads, "Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat' is a documentary-style comedy that captures a corporate offsite event at a family-owned hot sauce company from the perspective of Anthony, a recently hired temporary worker."

"Unbeknownst to Anthony, the entire experience is staged, every colleague around him is performing a role, and each moment - whether in conference rooms or during downtime - has been meticulously orchestrated. As the founder prepares to step down, the getaway transforms into a clash between big corporate ambitions and small business values, with control of the company hanging in the balance."

David Bernad ('The White Lotus') serves as the EP alongside Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupnitsky, Todd Schulman,  Nicholas Hatton, Jake Szymanski, Anthony King, Chris Kula, and James Marsden. Eisenberg and Stupnitsky co-created the series, with Szymanski serving as director.

Marsden was cast in Season 1, and in an interview with THR, he weighed in on his experience. "This is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before," he told the outlet. "You get one take. If he sees a hidden camera or someone calls the wrong person by the wrong name, the whole thing is upended. That was really exciting to me, just from the perspective of, "Can we pull this off?"

Season 1 premiered in 2023 and was a hit with the critics and audience. It was nominated in three categories at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards. This was followed by two Golden Globe nominations and a Peabody Award. Per Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' consensus reads, "While this courtroom comedy isn't as tedious as actual jury duty – largely thanks to a very game James Marsden – the verdict is still out on whether its stylistic gambit pays off."

'Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat' hits Prime Video on March 20.
