What is Chill Systems?

A revolutionary re-imagination of the traditional cooler, Chill Systems eliminates the need for wasteful single-use plastic bags of ice. With freezing gel built inside, it is an excellent reusable option. Did you know it is the first ever portable beer and wine chiller which doesn’t require ice or gel packs to cool your drinks?

“A Chiller will keep its cool for about 6 hours if left out at room temperature. It can keep cooling up to 24 hours when combined with The Adventure Pack or Picnic Tote,” the official website claims. It adds, “Room-temperature drinks will drop up to 20 degrees in the first hour. For quickest chilling, you can rotate in a new round in as little as every 30 minutes. For maximum coldness, room temperature drinks will be at their coldest point after two+ hours. If drinks are pre-refrigerated, they will stay at a nice crisp drinking temperature for even longer than the 6 hours promised.”

Wondering how much capacity it has? The Pack can carry a Chiller plus a 6-pack of 12 oz cans or two 750 ml bottles. The Tote can carry a Chiller plus twelve 12oz cans or bottles, or four 750 ml bottles of wine or spirits. Remember to keep it out of sunlight and dry it using a towel. Warning: It's not dishwasher safe!

Who are the founders?

Chase Mitchell | Chief Executive Chiller

Born and raised in Southern California, Chase is a lifetime Boy Scout and loves hiking and camping. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2014 with a major in Business Administration, a concentration in Marketing, and a minor in Web Technologies.

Chase was recruited by Google out of college and went to work at their Mountain View headquarters. Over his four years there, he helped small and medium businesses grow through digital advertising before later moving into sales and account management working with Google’s largest clients.

In San Francisco, Brian worked in a rotational program at Apple and left in 2018 to focus on building Chill Systems. Where are they now?

Chase and Brian met in college and became roommates in San Francisco in 2014. When the two friends attended Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in SF’s Golden Gate Park, they were shocked to see the muddy ground where people struggled to carry their coolers.

To create a convenient way to keep drinks cold on the go, the idea for Chill Systems was born and we got to work designing a compact, portable cooling system with self-contained freezing power. For two years, we kept our corporate jobs and built Chill Systems as a hobby on nights and weekends.

Talking about its inception, the duo said on their website, “In the summer of 2018, we launched on Kickstarter and decided to leave Google and Apple to focus 100% of our energy on Chill Systems. We know the stresses that tough jobs and life’s challenges can bring, and we are happy to be building a business that encourages others to spend more time relaxing outside and enjoying life.”

Who will steal the deal?

It seems quite difficult for Chill Systems to grab a deal and the founders may have to return home empty-handed. Sigh. Do you think they deserve to crack the deal? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
