'Chicago PD' Season 8 Spoilers: When will Episode 6 air? Halstead and Ruzek team up to take down a crime ring
Of late, it feels like 'Chicago PD' has been more about romantic relationships than anything else. There's the whole thing between Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) and Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos). Then we have Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) taking the next step. We do, however, have a non-romantic focus on Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), but everything involving the other four has just been between their respective romantic partners.
Next week's episode of 'Chicago PD' will change that, but before we get into it, let's take a look at what has happened so far.

What happened previously?
As mentioned, Upton and Halstead finally made their relationship official. They are both partners at work as well as a couple. However, there are some tensions between the two given Upton's past.
Then there is Burgess and Ruzek, who got together, got engaged, then split up, and then slept together again. Burgess then ended up getting pregnant and they sort of got back together. But Burgess lost the baby and while the two have been mourning together, we only got confirmation in the previous episode that there's still hope for Burgess and Ruzek. What's more is that they are also one step closer to becoming parents.
When will Episode 6 air?
'Chicago PD' Season 8 Episode 6 will air on Wednesday, February 10, at 10/9c.
What to expect from Episode 6?
The synopsis for 'Chicago PD' Season 8 Episode 6 states, "Halstead and Ruzek try to infiltrate a crime ring and encounter a complicated situation. The team recruits an unlikely ally to help solve a murder."
Halstead and Ruzek is not a pairing we see often and that's a loss for all of us since the actors who play the characters, Soffer and Flueger are close friends in real life. So it would be a welcome change to see Halstead and Ruzek working together on the show. In fact, since we rarely get to see that pairing, we would like to see their friendship developing too. Ruzek is Halstead's junior in terms of experience, so perhaps he can seek Halstead's advice while they work together.
We also want to see whether it might be awkward between Halstead and Ruzek given that Ruzek and Upton were in a relationship when they were partners. While the show has not brought up Upton and Ruzek's past in recent episodes, it is quite likely that it will come up if Halstead and Ruzek end up spending quality time together. It is unlikely that Ruzek knows that Halstead and Upton are together, and given that things between him and Burgess are better, would Ruzek be supportive or against Upstead?
We also have some big changes coming to 'Chicago PD', especially with the developments for Burgess and Ruzek. This is a welcome change but it depends on how 'Chicago PD' will handle it.
