The latest episode of 'Chicago Fire' was easily one of the best episodes on the show and reminded us just why the NBC drama from Dick Wolf has been going on for so long and is guaranteed to run at least till 2023. This episode focused on Christopher Hermann (David Eigenberg) and Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) as they carried out a claustrophobic rescue. Not only did they manage to succeed, but there was also a sweet remembrance of Brian "Otis" Zvonecek (Yuri Sardarov), who died in the premiere of the last season.

Now, 'Chicago Fire' usually focuses on Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). Then there also the young ones — Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), Darren Ritter (Daniel Kyri) and newcomer paramedic Gianna Mackey (Adriyan Rae). With such a large cast, most shows would find it difficult to individually flesh out everyone's character, and yet, 'Chicago Fire' does it in what seems to be such an easy way.

What went down previously?

One of the brewing troubles on this season of 'Chicago Fire' is the growing disturbance between Severide and Kidd. As fans may remember, Kidd's success with her Girls on Fire program from the previous season prompted Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) to recommend her to take the lieutenant's exam. Kidd is pretty excited and Severide is incredibly supportive, but recent events are making him keep a distance from Kidd.

Now, Kidd is understandably upset and she is now staying at Brett's place instead. Brett herself is undergoing some relationship drama. Casey's feelings for Brett are there, but she is not sure if they are strong enough to withstand the hypothetical situation of Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) coming back.

Meanwhile, 'Chicago Fire' is doing a great job of integrating the young characters into the family of Firehouse 51. Gallo has been great so far, but mistakes are bound to be made.

When will Episode 6 air?

'Chicago Fire' Season 9 Episode 6 will air on Wednesday, February 10, at 9/8c.

What to expect from Episode 6?

The synopsis for the upcoming episode states, "Gallo makes a split-second decision during a dangerous fire rescue leaving Casey steaming that his direct orders were not obeyed. Kidd feels a strain in her relationship with Severide. Brett and Mackey find themselves searching for answers following a series of suspicious calls."

Gallo tends to be a bit impulsive as we saw in his early days with Firehouse 51. But since then, 'Chicago Fire' has opted on focusing on his interpersonal relationships rather than how he is on the field. The next episode will do both and we know that Casey has high hopes for Gallo, having batted for him when Boden was reluctant to take him into Firehouse 51.

Meanwhile, Kidd and Severide's relationship is going through some turbulence and we really hope that drama comes to an end soon. Kidd and Severide are easily the most stable, and the central relationship on the show.

Finally, we get some more bonding between Brett and the new paramedic, Mackey, who is fitting into Firehouse 51 well.
