Spoilers for 'Chicago Fire' Season 8 Episode 20 '51's Original Bell'

This week's episode of 'Chicago Fire' was, unfortunately, the last one of the season as production was halted earlier than usual due to the ongoing paramedic. Therefore, this finale did not end in a cliffhanger like other finales for 'Chicago Fire'.

However, the finale for Season 8 of 'Chicago Fire' was memorable for multiple reasons. Paramedic Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) has applied to medical school though she hasn't told Sylvie Brett (Kara Kilmer) yet. After performing an emergency medical procedure in a previous episode, Foster got the confidence to become a med student again. Brett eventually shows her support after initially being upset. Could this mean that Foster may eventually leave 'Chicago Fire' and join 'Chicago Med'?

Moreover, we also saw Stella Kidd's (Miranda Rae Mayo) Girls on Fire program in action. We had seen Kidd propose the idea in an earlier episode to influence young girls from Chicago public schools to become firefighters. Kidd was joined by Foster and Brett to give the young girls some basic training.

In all, the episode was a major win for the girls. We saw them supporting each other and going after their dreams. And let's be honest, we loved it and so did the fans as they voiced their support for the trio on social media.

One fan tweeted, "I want a be taught firefighter things by Stella Kidd and listen to her motivational speeches. where do I sign up #ChicagoFire (sic)," while another wrote, "Stella Kidd my girl, such a bada**, gives it to you straight. She's so cute, I love her so much. #ChicagoFire."

A viewer said, "Proud girl of her 'Girls on Fire' and I'm totally okay with this. Stella Kidd is the best role model, a great woman, and a brave firefighter. I'm proud too. #ChicagoFire."

Some fans understood why Brett got upset, with one tweeting, "OKAY LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT first you kill of Brett's birth mum, Scott almost abandon the baby, have Cruz move out, now have Emily possibly leave as her partner NOW SCOTT IS LEAVING WITH HER SISTER!?!? OMG CAN SYLVIE NOT CATCH A BREAK LET HER BE HAPPY (sic)."

Another wrote, "Honestly, I can't even fault Brett for being annoyed with Foster. Imagine your intimate work partner, your roommate, and friend just making a huge life-changing decision without mentioning it."

However, other fans called Brett out for initially showing her resistance. One fan tweeted, "Really, obviously she’s struggling, however, Foster should do what’s best for her and if Brett cannot support that she’s not a friend, hopefully, she comes around (sic)."

A fan tweeted, "Stella really is the person who holds brett and fosters friendship together, every time they’re arguing she’s the one with actual sense getting them to communicate, truly my best girl #chicagofire."

However, fans were glad that Brett and Foster made up with the former showing her support for her partner. One fan tweeted, "I love the sisterhood between Foster and Brett and I'm happy to end the season with them. Can't wait for next season," while another wrote, "That was such an emotional ending for Emily and I’m so glad Sylvie was there for her when she needed it most."
