'Chicago Fire' returned with its ninth installment on November 11. The premiere was a nerve-wracking one and it had every possible danger packed into it, including people held at gunpoints and Stella-Kelly almost in danger. Nevertheless, all's well that ends well. At the end of the episode, Chief Boden tells Stella that he wanted to see her as the next Lieutenant, which makes fans wonder if he is going to retire. Stella has already proved herself more than capable and fans pray that she gets this promotion. It remains to be seen if she will, because Casey is a rank higher than her.

Boden and Stella have an emotional and empowering moment, leaving fans in tears. "What an incredible scene. The way Boden supported Stella's growth and development as a firefighter and a person has been such a joy to watch. #ChicagoFire #OneChicago," a fan tweeted. "This Boden and Stella moment bonding over firefighters who have made history. If you listen closely you'll hear the sound of glass breaking from a barrier breaker giving his mentee a woman and person of color his backing for lieutenant. Special moment. Yessss Stella! #ChicagoFire," another tweeted.

"YES BODEN!!!! STELLA KIDD FOR LIEUTENANT!!!!" a fan tweeted. "im getting a feeling boden is gonna retire and stella will be chief #chicagofire," another wrote. "Chief is about to retire and recommend Stella to replace him, isn’t he?!?! #ChicagoFire #OneChicago," a fan tweeted.

Stella's boyfriend Severide is more than happy for this and the two share quite the cutesy moment. "OMG Severide is the best boyfriends ever he's so on board for Stella to become a lieutenant but also he wants to help her #Stellaride #ChicagoFire," a fan tweeted. "Boden: Stella kidd you are courageous, intelligent, fierce & honorable And it's the definetion of a leader it's time for other to see you Damn right my girl is ready for that,#ChicagoFire," a fan tweeted.

Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) have been dating for a few years now and even moved in together in the previous season. Haas told CinemaBlend on the Stellaride relationship, "I think Severide will be thinking about next steps with Stella Kidd. That will be a major storyline for Season 9. This is 'Chicago Fire', so I can’t make any promises."

So let's hope no one dies. 'Chicago Fire' airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm on NBC.
