One thing is clear by now, mask-wearing is here to stay (not for long hopefully) and so is Lieutenant Pelham. We know that the first part is disheartening but the latter seems to make people, especially fans of 'Chicago Fire,' feel better. The new episode of the NBC drama, which covers the lives of the members of the Chicago Fire Department, has aired to positive response. The masses have spoken and they love it!

Switching between Stella Kidd's first day as Acting Lieutenant, Paramedic in Charge Sylvie Brett's quest to throw a banger of an "alt-party," and Deputy District Chief Boden's attempts to clear Pelham's name, the episode was a thoroughly engaging watch. Fans were quick to express their love for Stella Kidd, played by Miranda Rae Mayo, who replaced Pelham and executed two missions successfully. They also adored how Chief Boden looked out for Pelham, lovingly calling him a "Papa Bear" guarding his cubs.

'Chicago Fire' Episode 12 Review: A gala, a proposal and a whole lot of comradery

'Chicago Med' Episode 12: Fans think anti-vaxxers are 'irresponsible and selfish'

"Still not over how big kelly was smiling here.. just so freaking impressed with stella's first call as acting lieutenant that's one proud fiancé #chicagofire," one of the tweets read. "I absolutely want and need more of Stella as lieutenant #ChicagoFire #OneChicago," a fan wrote, addressing Stella's efficiency and sheer badassery as Acting Lieutenant. "Hello lieutenant kidd you look good in that passenger seat @NBCOneChicago @WolfEnt #ChicagoFire," another tweet read. One of the viewers were also impressed by how the character acted responsibly, tweeting, "I like the change of attitude Stella has this episode - taking on the lieutenant role on 81 and now helping Pelham. She's back to being "Stella Kidd" and I'm here for it. #ChicagoFire #OneChicago."

"Chief Boden aint playing! Stop messin with his #51 family. Pelham is in that family! Don't poke the bear and mess with his cubs #ChicagoFire," opined one of the fans. "When are these idiots gonna stop going after people at 51?? Don’t they know Chief Boden will ALWAYS protect 51?? Just saying #ChicagoFire," another fan tweeted. "Chief Boden is not trying to be punked down. They gonna learn today. He goes hard for Firehouse 51, as he should. #[email protected] #OneChicago," a fan expressed.

A lot of joy was also expressed over Kelly and Stella's engagement. Fans felt it was about time the characters committed to each other and are looking forward to their union. The latest episode of 'Chicago Fire' sadly is also the last episode for this month. We'll have to wait to see what the future holds for the members of 51.

Season 10 'Chicago Med' will return after the Winter Olympics with new episodes.
