Nigerian pop star Davido has collaborated with American rapper Lil Baby for a single called ‘So Crazy’ from his upcoming fourth studio album ‘A Better Time’ which is all set to hit the Internet on Friday, November 13, 2020. The song, released on November 9, 2020, has already garnered more than a million views on YouTube within a day, however, that did not stop social media users to slam the unusual collaboration between the two artistes.

The song, shot near a swimming pool of a mansion, shows Davido and Lil Baby having a gala time with the ladies at a party. In the song, Lil Baby raps, “Heartbreak after heartbreak, my chest done got numb/I tried my best, gave you my all, now I'm done/Summer time looking for a vibe, then we tuck back through the sun/Two of us with the rose gold, going on the road, gone for three month/I've been holdin' on for too long, Everything I do is wrong.” Davido later joins him for his verse where he croons, “She no be regular (Regular, regular), Regular damager (Damager)/Yes, her body na massacre (Yeah), Na she dey make me dey gbasaga/You got me feeling blue, something like Avatar (Avatar), You make me want to sign you, fire my manager (Sheesh).”

The Internet did not seem much impressed with the video and the lyrics where clearly a lot of social media users gave thumbs down to the new song. One user said, “Seeing these Americans support this Lil Baby and Davido song is making me sick. OMO THIS IS NOT AFROBEATS.” Another stated, “That Davido x Lil Baby & that new YB song are both misses smh.” Another user expressed, “@lilbaby4PF you’re latest ft with Davido was so s**t.” One user made fun of the American rapper and posted, “Lil baby needa stay away from the davido, wizkid type s**t.” “That davido song with Lil baby was wack wack” One social media user said, “That new Davido ft Lil Baby is pure trash,” read another tweet.

Speaking on joining hands with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, Davido in an official statement said, as reported by NME, “I’ve known Lil Baby for quite a while, and I think it’s important that I point this out that when you are collaborating on a record, you need to make sure that the relationship is good outside of music. I feel like that is when you make the best music.” According to Pitchfork, the new song has been produced by Nick Papz and Xander and the music video filmed in Los Angeles has been helmed by David Wept. Davido’s new album ‘A Better Time’ is a follow-up to his 2019 hit album ‘A Good Time’.
